Magnificent experience of fascinating earth science and astronomy that was short of n scientific jargon and long on fun amazement. The two volcanic video sessions were superb including the subterranean magma chamber tour reminiscent of Eagles concert in The Sphere in Las Vegas. Soooooo exciting, thrilling, and fun.
We had an evening flight so looking forward to something close by to do. We walked on the streets and the trails from our hotel and it was a perfect activity. We loved the volcano show and the ice cave experience. Well worth the trip to experience it in person
Very nice museum. Learned a lot about Iceland geography, flora, and fauna. Volcano exhibit was awesome. A good thing to do when the weather isn't great, although on a nice day, the view from the museum is spectacular. I thought the price of admission was high. $20 less would be better value for the money. A nice perk is that they will store your luggage for free. Good choice if you are coming from the airport and waiting for check in or you are on your way to the airport or cruise termnal for an afternoon depature.
A must do while in Iceland . What a beautiful experience. The volcano experience is the best . Need more instruction while at the restaurant . We did not know we have to order our own food by the cashier. We waited for a waiter to come to our table .
Absolutely excellent experience!! Excellent staffs and amazing films and exhibitions. Their cafe is also beautiful and delicious!! It was truly a best of the best museum experience!!
Dear Vicky, Thank you for mentioning our helpful and knowledgeable staff and for taking the time to write a review. It’s great to read that Perlan was a highlight of your trip. Our goal is to bring nature to life in a way that’s both fun and educational. Spending time in our Café under the Glass Dome is a lovely way to complete the experience, with good food in a bright and unique setting. We appreciate your visit and hope to see you again at Perlan! Best regards, Iva
Amazing, so informative and well planned, ice cave was fantastic and volcano experience absolutely amazing, easily spend a few hours here, well worth the visit, totally recommend
Dear Angie, Thank you for a great review and for sharing your day with us. We’re pleased the Ice Cave and Volcano Show stood out during your visit. Together, they offer insight into how Iceland is shaped — from slow-moving ice carving the land to volcanic forces building it from below. Hope to welcome you back to Perlan! Best regards, Iva
Wonderful. Extremely well done. Incredible overview of Iceland and its history. The Northern Lights show could have shown better "northern lights". It focused more on how the N.L.s cane to be. But really, it is absolutely worth going to.
The Perlan was a Museum unlike any other nature museums offering interactive experience and regular exhibits for audience. An unique experience showcasing Iceland natural landscapes and habitats. I particularly enjoyed the journey to see the magma in the volcano. The museum was an easy access from downtown Reykjavik and it also offered a 360 degree observation deck at the roof to see a panoramic view of Reykjavik. A place you don't want to miss while visiting Reykjavik.
THis is a wonderful place. Lots of info, and immersive experiences. You can learn about volcanoes, but this place takes you down underground to the heart of the magma nad lets you ride it up as it erupts. If you are visitng in summer, you can see the Northern lights of the winter. And there is more.
Dear Ben, Thank you for sharing your beautiful experience at Perlan. We’re glad you enjoyed both experiences. The Volcano Show captures the raw energy of eruptions, while the Northern Lights Show blends science, history, and music to bring the skies alive. Experiencing both gives a full sense of Iceland’s power. There’s always something new to discover here at Perlan—see you next time for more. Best regards, Iva
The museum is very interesting, a beautiful 360-degree view outside. The film is magnificent and we would like to see even more. A visit not to be missed
