Unfortunately we didn’t know our hotel was far from the Yokohama center so it was not walkable and we had to take a cab. Hiroko kindly paid as we didn’t have any yen but she later found us an ATM where we could get some. She took us to the Grand Hotel which is Western style in Yokohama with many American celebs having stayed there. Wonderful shops inside where I was able to buy a light jacket as it was getting cooler in the evening and I only had the t shirt I was wearing! We also saw an amusement park and lovely gardens. Was hoping to find local shops and restaurants but there really weren’t any so a bit disappointed. Hiroko was a lovely guide trying hard to make the most of our tour given the limited time of 2 hours.
We’re sorry the location and limited time affected your ability to explore more local shops and restaurants. Your comments are truly valuable, and we’ll take them into account to help improve future experiences and better set expectations. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to provide an even more tailored and fulfilling experience next time.
A wonderful trip through various places in Yokohama - including a very pleasent garden and China town. Very relaxed day with lot's of new impressions.
So glad to hear you enjoyed your day in Yokohama — it sounds like a perfect mix of peaceful gardens, vibrant Chinatown, and plenty of new impressions along the way!
Hiroko met us at the Yokohama cruise terminal. We only had one day before flying home and asked that we see some highlights. We used a taxi to drive around Yokohama before boarding a train to Tokyo. We saw the beautiful Tokyo station dome. Upon exiting the station, there was a formal procession in front of the Tokyo station hotel where the South Korean ambassador was arriving. How exciting. As this was a Monday, the Imperial Palace was closed. We went to Nakamise-Dori Street where traditional souvenirs and snacks are sold. This is the main entrance to the beautiful Sensoji Temple. We asked Hiroko to take us to a traditional Japanese restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious lunch. The menus have pictures and in English. This whole area was entertaining and gave us a glimpse of the Japanese culture. We returned to Yokohama by train. We were impressed by the cleanliness of everything. The Japanese people are very polite and well mannered. What a good example for the world. Being that we only had six hours, Hiroko made the most of this short time. She was very friendly, informative and we would highly recommend her services.
Thank you for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear that Hiroko made your day experience in Tokyo so memorable. Despite the limited time, she ensured you experienced key highlights, from the beautiful Tokyo Station dome to the bustling Nakamise-Dori Street and Sensoji Temple. We’re glad you enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch and felt immersed in Japanese culture. Hiroko’s friendly and informative approach truly shines, and we appreciate your recommendation. Thank you for choosing us!

On the 3rd of the month, I went to Yokohama and spent a very warm day with Riri-san. She introduced the local characteristics very carefully. Riri-san is very kind. Thank you very much 😊
Your positive review is incredibly valuable to us and Riri. Thank you sincerely!

Tommy was a perfect host in Yokohama. He was very personable and interesting to talk to. Unfortunately, I wasn’t prepared for so much walking with my arthritic knees, but Tommy was considerate in finding me places to sit along the way. I was relieved to have Tommy take the lead in what seemed like a complicated subway system. I really enjoyed the tour. He gentlemanly returned me to the hotel and helped with check-in. I was happy to have met him.
Thank you for sharing your experience Linda! We're so glad to hear that Tommy made your tour enjoyable with his personable nature and thoughtful accommodations for your needs. It's wonderful that he expertly navigated the subway system and even assisted with your hotel check-in. We're delighted you had such a positive time with Tommy!
Maoko planned our day with interesting sites and excellent food. She took us on trains and boats to maximize our walking tour and experiences. She found a restaurant with tasty sukiyaki and harbor views. Highly recommend
Going to the fish market, lunch options for a wide variety of Japanese food and the walk to the reclaimed area that has already been developed into a mixed use real estate development.
It sounds like you had an enjoyable experience visiting the fish market, exploring diverse Japanese food options, and walking through the newly developed reclaimed area! These are some great highlights that showcase both the culinary and urban development sides of the city.
