Oishi Park is a scenic lakeside park on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko, offering some of the best views of Mt. Fuji with the lake in the foreground. The park features walking paths along the lake, seasonal flower gardens, and open spaces that are perfect for photography or a relaxing stroll. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom along the paths, creating a beautiful frame for Mt. Fuji. In summer, the park is known for lavender fields, while autumn brings red kokia shrubs against the backdrop of the mountain. The park also has cafés and shops where visitors can enjoy local snacks and refreshments while taking in the scenery. Oishi Park is ideal for travelers who want to combine lakeside views, seasonal flowers, and stunning Mt. Fuji photography in a peaceful and accessible setting.

60 min

Arakurayama Sengen Park is a beautiful park known for its stunning views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding area. The park is home to the famous Chureito Pagoda, a five-story pagoda that offers one of the most iconic photo opportunities of the mountain. To reach the pagoda, visitors climb 398 steps, which lead to panoramic views of Fuji Five Lakes, the surrounding mountains, and the town below. The park’s well-maintained paths, seasonal gardens, and scenic overlooks provide plenty of opportunities for walking, photography, and enjoying the outdoors. Arakurayama Sengen Park is ideal for travelers who want to combine nature and classic Japanese scenery with Mt. Fuji photography in one stop.

30 min

Lake Kawaguchiko is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and one of the best places to enjoy clear, postcard-like views of Mt. Fuji. It’s peaceful, easy to access, and surrounded by cafés, small shops, and hot spring (onsen) facilities where you can relax while taking in the view of the mountain. The lake is known for its mirror-like reflection of Mt. Fuji on calm days, making it a favorite for photographers. The lake is also known for its seasonal scenery — cherry blossoms in spring, colorful foliage in autumn, and snow-capped peaks in winter — making Kawaguchiko a year-round destination. Visitors can enjoy a short boat cruise, walk along the lakeshore, relax at lakeside cafés, or simply enjoy the quiet atmosphere and natural beauty that define this area.

Admission included30 min

Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba is a traditional Japanese village located near Lake Saiko, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and views of Mt. Fuji. The village was rebuilt after a landslide in the 1960s and now serves as an open-air museum that recreates the atmosphere of old Japan. You can explore thatched-roof houses, each converted into small museums, galleries, and workshops where local artists display handmade crafts such as pottery, textiles, and washi paper. Some houses also offer kimono or samurai armor dress-up experiences, making it a fun and interactive stop for all ages. It’s a relaxing place to walk around, take photos, and learn about traditional Japanese life and architecture while enjoying a quiet view of Mt. Fuji in the background.

Admission included30 min

(Optional) Located about 2,300 meters above sea level, Mt. Fuji’s Subaru Line 5th Station is the highest point reachable by car and one of the most popular viewing areas on the mountain. From here, you can see Mt. Fuji’s peak up close and enjoy panoramic views of the Fuji Five Lakes area and surrounding landscapes. The 5th Station is also the starting point for the Yoshida Trail, but even if you’re not climbing, it’s a great place to experience the mountain’s atmosphere. You’ll find small shops, restaurants, and the historic Komitake Shrine, offering a nice balance of nature and local culture. Access is via the Fuji Subaru Line, a scenic toll road through the forest (the toll fee is included in your tour). Depending on weather or season, private vehicles may be restricted, in which case shuttle buses are used. Either way, it’s an easy and enjoyable way to get close to Japan’s most iconic mountain.

Admission included30 min

(Optional) Oshino Hakkai is a traditional village known for its eight spring fed ponds with exceptionally clear water, fed by melted snow from Mt. Fuji. The water is considered sacred and exceptionally pure, making this a popular spot for photography, reflection, and experiencing a quieter side of Japanese rural life. Also, the ponds are home to koi fish and other freshwater life. Visitors can stroll around the village and enjoy local shops and street food. At designated ponds, you can even taste the pure spring water while taking in views of Mt. Fuji. The village also features historic samurai houses and a small open-air museum, offering a glimpse into traditional Japanese life. The combination of water, greenery, and thatched-roof houses creates a serene and picturesque atmosphere. Oshino Hakkai is a World Heritage Site and an ideal place to experience traditional Japan, scenic natural beauty, and Mt. Fuji views in a peaceful environment.

30 min

(Optional) Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine in Fujiyoshida, located at the northern base of Mt. Fuji. Dedicated to Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of Mt. Fuji, the shrine has been a place of worship and pilgrimage for over 1,000 years. It also serves as the traditional starting point for climbing Mt. Fuji along the Yoshida Trail. Visitors enter through a large red torii gate and walk along a cedar-lined path leading to the main shrine buildings, surrounded by a peaceful forest. The atmosphere is calm and spiritual, offering a glimpse into Japan’s deep cultural connection with Mt. Fuji. It’s an ideal stop for those who want to experience Japan’s cultural heritage and natural beauty in one setting.

120 min

(Optional) Gotemba Premium Outlets is one of Japan’s most popular outlet malls, located near Mt. Fuji. It features over 200 Japanese and international brand stores in a relaxing open-air setting with beautiful views of Mt. Fuji. It’s a great place to take a short break, enjoy a coffee or meal, and shop for souvenirs or fashion items before returning.

Amazing Mt. Fuji tour

Lucas is an amazing guide. He picked us up on time at our hotel in Hakone and we did a tour of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding sites. Lucas is fluent in 3 languages including English and is from Japan. He is also very friendly and is incredibly knowledgeable about all things Japan. My family and I learned a ton and saw some amazing sites. Highly recommended!

Amazing day around mount Fuji

Amazing day around mount Fuji with Lucas as our guide. We took the tour at the beginning of our trip to Japan, so it was also really great to learn about Japan's history as we were visiting the various sites around mount Fuji. Unfortunately, the day was cloudy and we did not get to see mount Fuji despite our guide's best efforts, but we felt it was still worth it thanks to Lucas' knowledge of the region and history.

A wonderful tour

Lucas is a fantastic tour guide. He is so easy to talk to, very flexible and is a wealth of knowledge. I had such a fun time even though weather wasn’t great around Mount Fuji. If you don’t mind the early start I highly recommended the 5 am start time. We hit no traffic and pretty much had everywhere to ourselves before the tour buses start to arrive. We were then back in Tokyo around 1:30 pm.

Amazing Private, Customized Tour for our Family of four!

We were a family of four on a 10 day trip of a lifetime to Japan! This tour was simply amazing! I booked with Yokohama Private tours due to our tour guide's (Lucas) prompt response and willingness to accommodate the customization of the tour. We were traveling from Tokyo to Osaka and wanted to see the Mt. Fuji on our way - which is not an easy to get to via public transportation and 12 pieces of luggage/bags. We booked the Alphard Toyota van - which was quite luxurious and comfortable for our 10 hour tour. We made arrangements for Lucas to pick us up from our hotel with all of our luggage and got to relax after days of navigating public transport in Tokyo. It was very nice being driven around by someone who knew the area well. Lucas was incredibly knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and was an awesome safe driver. In addition to seeing traditional tourist spots (Lake Kawaguchi and Chureita Pagoda), we stopped for lunch at a small traditional restaurant (delicious). Lucas then helped us find the small fishing village where my Grandmother spent her childhood - Matsunaga Village, Numazu, Shizuoka prefecture. He researched and help us find the beach where she played! This was an incredible memory for us. At the end of our tour, Lucas dropped us off at the Fuji Shinkansen station, helping us figure out the tickets/entry, before we parted ways. I highly recommend Lucas of Yokohama Private Tours! If and when we return, I would book again in a heartbeat! Worth every yen spent!

We didn't get to see Mount Fuji (weather), but it was a fantastic day!

We didn't get to see Mount Fuji (weather), but I'm so happy we took the trip! Yuriko and Mr. Saito picked my family and friends up at our hotel at 6 AM, and the adventure began. From the start, Lucas and Yokohama Private Tours had been communicative and making sure the trip was setup to our request, even including checking for food allergies. We came during the height of rainy season, so it rained most of the day. But that didn't matter. My van (Toyota Alphard - highly recommend!) was driven by Yuriko, and it was so nice to hear about this and that. Fun facts, answers to any questions we came up with, everything. She was very interactive and personable. I can't speak for the van that Mr. Saito drove, but from what I've gathered, he was great as well! When we got to our stops, Yuriko would go with us and answer any questions we had. Part of the trip was to take my daughter's "5th Birthday" pictures, and Yuriko would help us with suggestions of places to make it great. One of the benefits to going during the rain: LESS PEOPLE. Maple Corridor had no one there (granted is most popular in autumn). Oishi Park had beautiful flowers and Lake Kawaguchiko. Chureito Pagoda did not disappoint even with overcast sky. The steps are NO JOKE 😆. And even sans Mount Fuji, Honcho St. was beautiful. By the time we started traveling back, we wanted to ask Yuiko and Mr. Saito to be our personal guides the rest of our Tokyo trip, but honestly, it was more of a, "Hey, friends, would you want to hang out?" They were great, and we were sad or trip was coming to an end, but fully satisfied with everything. We didn't get to see Mount Fuji, but that just means we need to come back and try again. And I'll tell you what, I won't hesitate to look at another trip with Yokohama Private Tours with Lucas and his crew! And I'll recommend them to ANYONE I encounter that is going to be heading to Japan! Thank you, Lucas, Yuriko, and Mr. Saito!

Wonderful tour of Mt. Fuji area with Lucas

Our tour was amazing. Lucas is a fantastic guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed our day with him. We were traveling as a family of 7, and Lucas had no problem with that size group. We upgraded to a larger passenger van for comfort, and that was a great suggestion. Lucas also provided his suggested itinerary but adapted it to our needs with no issues at all. I highly recommend Yokohama Private Tours, and Lucas specifically!

We had a fabulous day from start to finish with Luke who was extremely friendly and professional. Highlight views of Mt Fuji, lunch at a local restaurant and a great end to the day at a traditional Onsen. Can’t recommend Luke highly enough.

A great Mount Fuji Experience Thanks to Lucas!

We had a wonderful private tour of Mount Fuji with Lucas. He was incredibly helpful in finding us the best possible view on the day, which turned out to be the only clear visible view of Mount Fuji. He also took us to an authentic local place for lunch, which we really enjoyed. Lucas spoke excellent English and shared lots of interesting and fun facts throughout the trip. His car was very comfortable, and he kindly provided complimentary snacks and drinks, which was a lovely touch. He also took us to some great spots for family photos and was patient, friendly, and helpful the entire time. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would highly recommend Lucas to anyone looking for a private Mount Fuji tour. And yes, Lucas is Japanese — don’t let the name fool you!

The perfect Mt. Fuji...

The perfect Mt. Fuji experience! This tour could not have been better. Our guide Lucas was so kind, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, making a unique itinerary based off our interests. We set our start time for 6:30 a.m., and, even though it might seem early, it was perfect. We missed morning rush hour traffic and took in some beautiful views before the clouds and crowds formed. We got to see so many different locations and views around Mt. Fuji, ranging from iconic selfie spots, to beautiful flower fields, to an outdoor traditional village museum, to even a sake brewery. Suffice it to say, this tour had it all and is a must do for anyone visiting.

Outstanding Experience

We had an outstanding experience with Yokohama Private Tours (YPT) during our trip to Asia, and equally important, even before we arrived in Japan. We have explored many countries, and planning an in-depth and extensive international trip can sometimes be challenging. From our very first inquiry with YPT, Lucas was responsive and answered our questions promptly, professionally, and his English was excellent. He helped us build a customized itinerary and his attention to detail was very impressive. Equally important, was his knowledge of Japan and his recommendations of what to see so as to make the most of our time in such a beautiful country. A pleasant surprise for us, was his skill at taking professional photos and videos of us at scenic sites. He captured many memorable moments we will treasure for a lifetime! Our first tour was a private excursion from Yokohama to the Mount Fuji area. We were picked up directly at our hotel and taken to several beautiful locations throughout the day. One of the best aspects of the tour was the freedom to have a completely flexible schedule. Unlike structured bus tours, we were never rushed or tied to someone else’s timeline. The itinerary could be adjusted as we went, allowing us to spend more time at places we especially enjoyed. We also used Yokohama Private Tours for a full-day private tour of the Tokyo area. Once again, Lucas did not disappoint us and did an excellent job working with us to create a unique itinerary focused on the sites we specifically wanted to see. If we wanted to stay longer somewhere, it was never a problem. In addition to the tours, we used their service for three private transfers: - A transfer to Ashikaga Flower Park, which was absolutely amazing - A transfer from the Yokohama cruise port to our Tokyo hotel - A transfer from Tokyo to the airport We were traveling with several large pieces of luggage, and standard Japanese taxis and Ubers simply could not accommodate us comfortably. Having a spacious vehicle waiting for us provided tremendous peace of mind and convenience. Every driver was professional, and all of the vehicles were extremely comfortable. Lucas also provided the names and contact information for each driver the day before our scheduled pickups, which added another level of reassurance and professionalism. Bottom line: we would absolutely use this company again and highly recommend them to anyone traveling to Japan. We wish there were more private touring companies like YPT and especially a “Lucas” in every country that we plan to visit in the future! Travel would be as carefree and close to perfect as you can get!
