this was an amazing experience. surpassed our expectations. visiting and taking in the views of merapi in the morning were breathtaking. on the way to the waterfall, our local guide thomas stopped at a fruit stand and had us try snake fruit. we loved the fruit and happy he allowed us to taste local grown fresh fruit. afterwards we stopped at a coffee production facility where they make lewuk coffee. was fascinating to learn about how they make it and try some ourselves. lastly, the waterfall experience was amazing. it’s a beautiful climb down and the waterfall is very picturesque. want to explicitly call out that our local guide thomas was amazing. his energy was great, he taught us local languages, took photos of us, and was overall very kind and hospitable. truly one of the best guides we’ve had on our three week long indonesia trip.
