Description

From the 7th September 1940 to the 11th May 1941, London suffered under continual aerial bombardment from the German Luftwaffe the like of which the world had never before seen and fortunately rarely has since.  It was known as The Blitz and the face of London was changed forever as well as the character of Londoners too.  Whilst much has changed in the intervening years, there are still reminders of these dark days. Join us on this very special private tour which will take you to places that big group and bus tours could never hope to go.

Not a Blitz Tour

This is not a Blitz Tour. Our tour guide was knowledge about London but it was not about the Blitz. T

Operator response

Sorry you didn't enjoy the Blitz Tour. It very much is a Blitz tour as all the very happy previous reviews have noted. Air Raid signs, shrapnel holes, memorials, disasters... everything but exploding bombs. If there is something you didn't like in particular please write and let me know. However we are trusted to do this tour for militaries and veterans around he world (including the USA) and for British and Commonwealth bodies too. The guide said some in the group weren’t at all interested in the tour with some difficulty walking too but the person that it was booked for, loved it. The tour is a Blitz Tour and whilst we are sorry you didn’t enjoy it doesn’t change that fact at all.

Highly worth it with Stephen

Awesome experience. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and talked to us about everything giving us insight to more than just the tour. The movement through the underground was fun.

Definitely worth a visit!

Visited the War museum during our holiday week in London. Definitely worth a visit! Beautiful objects that are exhibited here from the war. (You have to love history to learn from it!) The museum is freely accessible and you do not have to pay an entrance fee!

Wonderful Tour and Guide

We had a wonderful walking tour with Kevin! From the Anti-aircraft guns to the St Paul's area, to the Churchill War rooms, Kevin was a fountain of knowledge about everything in London. He knows every nook and cranny and has so much knowledge, that for us, this was not just a Blitz tour, but a fabulous tour of London. Adding to his knowledge is his warm and friendly personality. We would recommend Kevin for any London tour.

A trip back in time

Kevin met me at my hotel and showed me many historical sites. The entire tour is walking or using the "tube" London is a walking city. From the first anti air craft gun to St. Paul's Cathedral to the Churchill War Rooms Kevin gave expert historical perspective that only a Londoner could provide. It was a fascinating historical experience. If you like history- especially WW2 this is a great tour. When I return to London I look forward to another tour with Kevin.

Fantastic Guide and Tour

We're scheduled for the WW2 Blitz tour, but since it was our first time in London, and we had the time, Kevin (our fantastic guide) customized our tour to fit in both the Blitz tour, along with any additional history he could fit in. His knowledge of the city is spectacular. Kevin blends both traditional historical spots with interesting, less know spots. I recommend taking a tour early in your trip so you can appreciate all the additional insight a tour like this gives you. Kevin really seemed to love what he does, and it made the tour that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend taking this tour, and any other tour that Kevin does.

We're so glad that you enjoyed our WW2 London Blitz tour. As you say it is a good mix of the more traditional spots with lesser visited locations. We had a lot of fun ourselves when we put the tour together, would would think there is still so much evidence of The Blitz in London right in front of our eyes... well nearly!
