Itinerary
Your coach will leave from the designated meeting point at 8am sharp – make sure you’re there minimum 15 minutes before to check in! The first stop of your adventure will be the world’s oldest and largest occupied castle, Windsor Castle, where you will arrive at approximately 9:30am. With its sweeping landscaped gardens and a striking round tower, it's easy to see why Windsor Castle is King favourite weekend residence. Enjoy wandering through the lavish State Apartments - home to priceless artworks by Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci and many more - and visit the beautiful St. George's Chapel, the final resting place of former monarchs including Henry VIII and the wedding venue of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!
Step inside St George’s Chapel, located on the sprawling grounds, where notorious King Henry VIII and his favourite wife, Jane Seymour, are buried, as are Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. St. George's Chapel is one of the finest examples of gothic architecture in England. It has been the setting for many royal weddings and is the burial place of ten sovereigns. The Chapel is dedicated to the patron saint of the Order of the Garter. Britain's highest Order of Chivalry. *St. George’s Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day. Worshippers are welcome to attend the services. These occur at the following times: 08:30 – Holy Communion 10:45 – Mattins and Sermon 11:45 – Sung Eucharist 17:15 – Evensong
This 17th-century historic masterpiece building is situated in the High Street, only 100 metres from Castle Hill. Prince Charles married Camilla Parket Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall at Windsor Guildhall in 2005.
The true meaning of this ancient, awe-inspiring creation has been lost in the mists of time. Was Stonehenge a temple for sun worship, a healing centre, a burial site or perhaps a huge calendar? How did our ancestors manage to carry the mighty stones from so far away and then, using only the most primitive of tools, build this amazing structure? Surrounded by mystery, this prehistoric monument never fails to impress!
Pass by the romantic Pulteney Bridge, modeled on Florence's Ponte Vecchio.
No tour of Bath would be complete without a visit to the famous Roman Baths that gave the city its name. This beautifully preserved bathing complex still flows with water from Britain's only hot spring. Get a glimpse of how the Romans liked to unwind and see for yourself if Bath’s waters really do have healing powers by tasting a sip in the Pump Room, a stunning neo-classical salon.

Overall great experience: the coach, comfort, lunch box, staff, guide, etc. Driver Elvio is much more than a driver - guide, host, human wikipedia, entertainment. We really enjoyed every moment.
Bath and Windsor are so much more than I anticipated. The Roman Baths were fascinating. The Huntsman Pub (Bath) was a delightful stop to cool off and enjoy a drink or two. Would love to have more time exploring. Windsor is a charming area. The castle and grounds were beautifully preserved. Stonehenge was interesting… would have spent more time if not for the weather. Our tour guide Paulie was extremely knowledgeable and helpful… at the end of the tour he met with each traveling member to ensure they knew how to get transportation back to their lodging and to local restaurants. It was a nice touch.
The first point to make is the tour we were on was pared back as Stonehenge was closed due to Summer solstice activity. This is quite understandable but equally predictable for the operators, less so for travellers. We would have been able to schedule an alternate day had we been informed or if it was made obvious during the booking process. So an easy win improvement for Golden Tours team. Putting that to one side, once underway the tour leader of the day Dave and driver Mario pulled together a plan to minimise traffic delays and maximise our time at the attractions. We enjoyed the castle and the township of Bath both of which we explored independently using some of the tips and information supplied by Dave. During the return trip to London Dave have us a fantastic bunch of information regarding other things to do in and around London. The detail was fantastic in coverage of a broad range of options to suit a range of requirements and would be worth documenting as a very useful resource. Thanks Dave & Mario
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologise for any confusion regarding the Stonehenge closure due to the Summer Solstice activities. While such closures are determined by the site authorities, we understand how important it is for travellers to have clear information when planning their visit. We would like to clarify that all customers who had purchased Stonehenge admission tickets were contacted regarding the closure, and a refund for the unused Stonehenge entry tickets was processed accordingly. We’re pleased to hear that, despite this unexpected change, Dave and Mario did their best to adapt the itinerary and make the most of the day. It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed Windsor Castle, Bath, and the valuable insights provided by Dave throughout the tour. We will be sure to share your kind words with both Dave and Mario. Thank you again for your understanding, and we hope to welcome you on another Golden Tours experience in the future.
Good time. Bus driver either kept the bus too cold or too hot but other than that it was a good time. Tour guide was great
Thank you for your feedback! We're pleased to hear you had a good time and enjoyed the tour. We appreciate your comments regarding the bus temperature and will share them with our team. It's wonderful to know your tour guide helped make the experience informative and enjoyable.
This tour is an excellent way to see some of England's most iconic sites (outside of London) in one day. My guide was Pauly, and he was amazing. Although the group was large, Pauly personalized the experience for everyone. He did a great job explaining all of the different sites. The driver was Armando, and he also did a great job of getting us to the sites and back to London in a timely manner.
Our tour was amazing! Our tour guide Bruce was super funny and told amazing stories! Super entertaining! Our driver Elvio gave us a super smooth ride the whole time!
Thank you for your wonderful 5-star review! We're so glad you had an amazing experience on the Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath tour and enjoyed the day with Bruce and Elvio. It’s great to hear the journey was both entertaining and smooth throughout. We really appreciate your kind feedback and hope to welcome you again soon!
1. My tour didn't go to Stonehenge at all due to a concert allegedly. Huge disappointment especially because that was the main reason I booked - no notice that was the situation. Probably one-off but that was my experience. 2. This ticket doesn't actually get you into the Windsor Castle tour or the Roman Baths. So it's essentially 100 pounds for a bus ride. While that information *is* included in the listing, I was expecting those were more upgrades rather than the core experience. Why would you even sell this tour? So I can go to random tourist gift shops near the Windsor Castle that are the same as the ones I just left in London? It was apparent many others were in the same situation as me because we all had to scramble to buy tickets on our phones to actually get in to these two attractions separately during the bus ride - essentially doubling the cost of the whole tour. To be clear, this is the fault of TripAdvisor, not the company operating the tours. 3. The bus A/C was weak and the temperature hovered upper 70s to 80s inside the bus most of the time. Not the end of the world, but not exactly worth 100 pounds. Consistent with most of England in a heat wave I guess! Everything else was fine - nothing notable either way. The sites themselves are a great experience - just find a better option!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that parts of your experience did not meet your expectations. As is standard practice across the tour industry, many sightseeing tours are sold as a transport and guided experience, with optional entry tickets available as add-ons. This allows guests the flexibility to tailor their day depending on preferences and budgets. We do provide clear information at the time of booking regarding what is and isn’t included, but we’re sorry if this was not fully clear or understood prior to your travel. We also regret that Stonehenge was unavailable on the day of your visit due to the summer solstice. While this is outside of our control, we did notify affected passengers who had purchased Stonehenge entry tickets. Your comments regarding comfort on board have also been noted and will be passed to our operations team for review. Thank you again for your feedback.
They can cancel parts of the tour without notice. They cancelled the Stonehenge visit and only told us after we were on the bus going to Windsor Castle.
We were very disappointed in this tour as they canceled Stonehenge due to the summer solstice. The company knew this before we started the tour but waited until we left to tell us. Also, disappointed that GetYourGuide was not clear about purchasing optional tickets for each attraction. And to top it off, the AC wasn’t working properly on a very hot day. We were in Windsor for over 3 hours. Surely another bus could have been sent from London. Our guide, David, did a good job though of giving us info and helping everyone get where they needed to be during the day and at the end of the tour.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that parts of your experience did not meet expectations. Stonehenge closure due to the Summer Solstice was communicated in advance to all customers who purchased Stonehenge entry tickets with their booking and were provided a refund for the entry cost. We are sorry for any confusion regarding ticket inclusions and for the discomfort caused by the air conditioning issue on a particularly hot day. Your comments have been shared with our operations team for review. We are, however, pleased to hear that David provided helpful guidance throughout the day and supported guests during the tour. We appreciate your feedback and hope we may have the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.
