Description

It’s time to go back to the 1940s. Big Ben no longer sounds. Air raid sirens are the norm. German bombing raids come under cover of darkness. The population lives with rations and restrictions. Many Brits lay down their lives in Europe and beyond. With your local expert guide, you will keep calm and carry on, learning about the British resolve and getting the inside scoop on the truth behind Westminster in wartime on this walking tour past our most important monuments- Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Cenotaph, Ministry of War, 10 Downing Street and Whitehall. The Tour will end outside Churchill’s War Rooms, the strategic war room bunkers from where Winston Churchill and cabinet were to conduct their part of WW2- frozen in time and ready to be discovered once again.

Skip the tour and buy tickets to the War Room directly

The tour lasted for about 1.5 hours and was informative. Our guide, Pepe, did a nice job of showing us the sites and photos. Note, that this experience is a tour that begins at Parliament and ends at the entrance to the War Room. If you don't add the tickets for the War Room, then you don't get to see those. While our guide did a good job, we would skip the tour and simply buy tickets to the War Room.

Churchill

There’s a lot of standing but the information was good. Bit hard to hear above the traffic- maybe consider using box boxes.

World War 2 Comes to Life

As Sheldon gave us a glance over his glasses, he brilliantly and passionately executed a wonderful tour. It was fast-paced and incredibly informative regarding Churchill as well as World War 2 London. He gave the background into the humanity of Churchill. The war rooms are very small and cramped but did not get in the way of our tour. Heck, even my wife who said she had zero interest in the topic was captivated!

Best so far!

Best activity so far! We took a walking tour of London during WW 2 and then the Churchill War museum. Our guide, Jeremy, was very knowledgeable and interspersed his tour with pictures and humor. The was room was excellent and allowed you to go at your own pace. Even though it was a bit crowded, it was very enjoyable.
