Trafalgar Square is the heart of London - one of the most beautiful open spaces not only in London, but also in the world. The square was laid out to celebrate the victory of Lord Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar and today this is where people gather to celebrate, to mark important events or just to relax and admire the view! Trafalgar Square is the home of Nelson's column, stunning water fountains and the National Gallery.

We took a guided tour, and I would recommend it. Our guide knew how to navigate around Westminster Abbey as there was a pretty good crowd by the time we got halfway through the Abbey. She led us through London to Buckingham Palace and set us up well to see the changing of the guards. Note, don't pay for a separate guided tour for the changing of the guards, you get nothing different than anyone standing along the road! She was very interesting and provided a lot of history about the different buildings we passed as well as the parks we walked through.
This is one of the best tours we've had! Well curated - not only it combines iconic London landmarks, but the wonderful tour guide Galina walks you through the history with lots of interesting stories and facts. As a private tour group we were able to jump the impossibly long line at the Westminster Abbey. Highly recommend this tour!
