The Cathedral of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes or the Catedral de Pedra; is a Catholic church located in the city of Canela, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. It is considered a major tourist attraction of the so-called Serra Gaúcha. Its characteristic style is English Gothic. The church has a 65 meter high tower and a 12-bell carillon made of cast bronze, Made by Giacomo Crespi from Italy. Inside, there are three panels made up of canvases painted by the artist Marciano Schmitz, representing "Apparition of the Virgin", "Allegory of Angels" and "The Annunciation". The Via Sacra paintings were made by Pablo Herrera, a Uruguayan sculptor and restorer of Sacred Art. Wood and clay were used, with the bottom full of paintings with images superimposed on the clay.

The visitation consists of a climb through the interior of the tower of the Cathedral of Pedras de Canela. It has a museum of sacred art, telling the story of the Cathedral and Canon João Marchesi (creator). It presents the history of the Carillon of the 12 bells in bronze, whose set weighs 4 Tons. Upon reaching the top of the visitation, you can enjoy the MAGNIFICENT panoramic view of the city of Canela, contemplating it from the side balconies.

Excellent short trip for the day of the return trip if you can leave Canela after 11 a.m. You have the option to climb the bell tower by the elevator, but if you can climb the stairs I find it more interesting
The church is beautiful, the value invested was fair and the view from above is very beautiful!
I loved the room I feel very satisfied and the spectacular food excellent season the attention very friendly I like being my first time in chile and the first time outside the country and I hope to be able to return and visit you and know the best tourist places of chile.
I expected more, and the service also leaves something to be desired. The attendants seem to be forced to sell tickets, but they are not very polite.
