Margo’s is where vegan indulgence meets Parisian charm. This 100% plant-based bakery is famous for its buttery croissants, creamy tarts, and flaky pistachio rolls that make even the most loyal dairy-lovers reconsider. Everything is handmade with top-quality organic ingredients, free from refined sugar, and absolutely stunning to look at. But Margo’s isn’t just about beauty – it’s about raising the standard for vegan patisserie. Whether you go for the chocolate ganache tart or the delicate madeleines, this is the kind of place that turns “I’m just browsing” into “I’ll take three.”
We will show you what de Hallen are all about!
De Vegan Sushi Bar is a gamechanger in the world of plant-based dining. Their menu is a feast of colors, textures, and umami-packed bites that reimagine sushi without fish – and without compromise. Think spicy “tuna” rolls made with watermelon, “shrimp” nigiri that looks and tastes shockingly real, and crispy tempura creations that satisfy every craving. The vibe is sleek and stylish, but never pretentious. This spot is for sushi lovers, planet lovers, and anyone curious about how far vegan innovation has come. Spoiler alert: very far.
Larry’s is a neighborhood gem in Amsterdam West where good vibes and bold flavors go hand in hand. This place brings together global street food with local attitude – think bao buns filled with crispy jackfruit, tangy pickles, and spicy sauces that hit just right. The space feels like a modern diner with a conscious twist: fully plant-based, no compromises on taste. Whether you’re here for brunch, bites or beers, Larry’s makes it easy to fall in love with food that’s fun, flavorful, and entirely animal-free. You might come for the bao, but you’ll stay for the energy.
In Amsterdam Oud-West, Mr. Blou is more than just a food stall. It’s a neighborhood institution. During our tour, we stop here to witness how a simple classic is elevated into a PlantBased masterpiece. Forget everything you know about dry, mass-produced falafel. Mr. Blou serves gold-standard street food: vibrant green on the inside from fresh herbs, and perfectly golden-crisp on the outside. Tucked into a soft pita with crunchy veggies and signature sauces, every bite is a explosion of flavor and texture. While you enjoy your wrap, we’ll share the story of how this local legend became a cornerstone of the area’s creative food scene. It’s the ultimate example of how passionate, small-scale entrepreneurs are defining the taste of modern Amsterdam. Authentic, high-quality, and deeply satisfying—this is street food at its absolute finest.
Soil is where plant-based food meets earthy soul. This café in Amsterdam West serves up vibrant, wholesome dishes inspired by global street food – all 100% vegan. From Korean-style rice bowls to creamy truffle polenta and spicy jackfruit tacos, every dish is built on bold flavors and nourishing ingredients. Soil’s motto? “Eat like it matters.” That means no processed nonsense, lots of creativity, and a big focus on sustainability. It’s the kind of place where you feel good about everything you order – and where even omnivores leave impressed.
Meatless District is a longtime favorite in the Amsterdam vegan scene – and for good reason. With its industrial-chic interior and laid-back atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for a casual meal that feels a bit elevated. The menu balances comfort and creativity: think seitan steaks with roasted veggies, juicy burgers with housemade sauces, and rich desserts that don’t mess around. Everything is 100% vegan, beautifully plated, and packed with flavor. If you’re looking for a spot that proves vegan food can be just as satisfying and sophisticated as any fine dining experience, Meatless District delivers.

I had so much fun on this amazing food tour! I got to know Amsterdam a little better while enjoying some of the most delicious food.
Wow, what a great tour with Torben. And that food!!!! Great way to get to know the entrepreneurs behind the food, Very nice stories about the city, and a walk through the nicest neighborhood of Amsterdam. This was my second time doing the Amsterdam tour, and was very different from when I did it 1.5 years ago. So it's always fun to do it again, and again.
The tour was just as described on the website. In addition to the food we learned some interesting facts about the neighborhood we visited. There is some walking between restaurants but that is part of the tour charm. As for the food, it was excellent. The variety was a range of sweet and savory. My wife is non-vegan and she enjoyed the food as much as I did. Our guide was Chiara and her attitude was upbeat and energetic.
Thank you very much for your lovely review! And great advice for people in the future about not eating before the tour :)

You also take a very nice walk through the city in this way. The guide told fun anecdotes about everything, including the owners of the food spots. Highly recommended.
