Touring windmills and you asking cheese.

We had a fabulous day and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide Patricia was amazing. She was well organised and very informative. They accommodated us by allowing us to join the earlier tour as we arrived early. Patricia led us to a wonderful fish restaurant for lunch which we really enjoyed. Overall great experience.

Worth every penny and a must do.

This tour is a MUST DO while in Amsterdam. The tour guide is extremely knowledgeable ( I’m sorry brother, I forgot your name—handsome Spaniard, you’ll find him). 😉 I used Viator. Hr managed the group very well and watched the time to optimize our trip. You’ll see smaller towns and get a feel for the country and history that is essential for a well rounded Dutch experience. The cost was very reasonable for well over a 6 hour trip, and the scenery is postcard worthy. The bus transport wad very comfortable and punctual. Be on time! Eat the cheese, it’s delicious; and learn how it’s made fresh daily, learn the inner workings of the windmills, the solutions created for water management, wooden shoes (fascinating practical reasons for wood as opposed to leather shoes). They’re not just a Dutch souvenir—they actually have historical significance. Learn and watch how they’re made. You’ll visit the coast, smell the salt air, seafood, and stroopwaffles. You will have the opportunity to shop and enjoy a lovely lunch where locals eat—no McDonald’s here. Have a beer, relax. 5 stars for sure! I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and highly recommend it.

Relaxing Day Outside the City

Our tour guide (who I’ve forgotten the name of) was so so so knowledgeable. My partner and I really enjoyed the history and knowledge she shared with us. Parts of the trip were quite “touristy” such as the old fishing village which isn’t actually used for fishing now. In saying that, we are tourists so it suited us and we got to learn about the history. The cheese shop was a delicious treat, however this was again quite touristy and discussed at a high level how they made cheese and clogs. Overall we loved the trip and would recommend it to those looking for a day outside of the city and to those who would like to learn more about the history of the Netherlands. The bus was super comfy too!
