This ride was fun, scenic and interesting. Our guide Bryan was a good leader and very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the islands. Beautiful scenery too. Our family really enjoyed it!
The Islands are gorgeous and seeing them by bike is awesome, but unless you are really dying to learn all the ins and outs of the Toronto Islands, with lots of stopping and getting off your bike, I’d save your money, hop the ferry and grab a city bike on the island…or rent one there. And use Google for what to see. The pick-up point for the tour is deep in a garage a good ways from the ferry. I’m a city rider so no big deal for me but for families with kids or people less accustomed to the traffic it could be a bit much. Overall, way too much uninteresting storytelling…20 minutes at a lighthouse for a 3 minute story, stopping at the gate of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club to talk about its history without actually seeing anything, stopping at a public school to note that were it not summer there would be kids there, and, nearly 90 minutes or so after meeting for our bikes, going through the safety training, riding to the ferry, waiting 30 minutes for the ferry and finally arriving on the Islands, waiting another 10 minutes or so for mandatory selfies and group photos with strangers (nice folks, but still…). Honestly, the whole thing felt designed for a 5th grade class, complete with periodic quizzes along the way to see how well you remembered facts from 10 minutes earlier.
Brian was not only knowledgeable, but careful with everything we did. Our safety first! To travel the islands on a bike is truly a treat. A great 15 Kms of beautiful scenery!
We loved this experience. The islands were beautiful, the biking was easy, and our guide Sydney did a great job keeping us safe and telling us lots of interesting history about Toronto and the islands.
Fun trip with plenty to see. Trip affected by a puncture, which took time to fix but wasn't adjusted for in the schedule. It felt like we may have missed out as a result.
This tour was excellent! Guide Sydney is knowledgeable and explained the history and back stories of Toronto and the islands super well! Importantly, the bike trip is quite straightforward, safe, and engaging. The ride to and on the Islands was incredible. We were able to see great views of the City and of the island nature as well as history. Highly recommended!
We had two guides for the price of one! Claire and Jenny safely guided us down to and around the islands, with lots of great knowledge and gems of info. They came prepared if the weather turned cold or wet and were friendly and engaging. Thanks ladies!
Ryan was an excellent tour guide! Super friendly and so knowledgable about the history of the islands and Toronto in general. He even helped us plan the rest of our day in the city, complete with street car routes. Bikes were really nice, and the terrain was pretty flat. Washrooms were available along the route. It was cooler on the island, so dress in layers. Overall, great experience. Would definitely recommend!
It was a great way to spend our wedding anniversary, the other couple we were with were from England and they were fun, also seeing the locals, taking the ferry, great tour guide and a peaceful bike ride
This was an amazing experience and highly recommend if you have a morning or afternoon free while in Toronto. We are retired and the amount of biking was just right for us(not regular bike riders). The tour of the island, spectacular views of the skyline, and ferry ride over just perfect! Our guide Oscar took good care of us and was very knowledgeable of local history and the island.
