Guide thought tipping is required and acted like he was with viator for free. This trip wasn't wanted and it ended early.
I am sorry that you felt that tipping your tour guide was not necessary. We stated in our description that the tour was only 10 dollars so you could tip your guide for their service in the 2 hours. You got a private tour on otherwise a public group tour. We have removed the option because entitled guests like you make it not worth offering a cheap tour but insist on a luxury service like car and hotel pickup.
Our tour guide Jack was a very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable man. Our tour was slow paced and took in many sites around Yokohama which we probably would have never visited on our own. Thank you Jack for a wonderful day.
Jack was great. My family really enjoyed learning the history of Yokohama.
Jack was an incredible guide, we learned so much and had a great time. Very well valued and I would highly recommend the guide Jack to anyone! He went out of his way to ensure we had a very special experience despite rain and cold weather. The entire group was impressed with the tour and loved the cultural stories and history Jack shared stuff us.
We just finished our very informative tour of Yokohama with Jack. Jack is very knowledgeable and we definitely got out a lot from doing this tour. Make sure to wear comfy shoes!
Jack speaks very good English since he was raised in New York, later in life he came back to his native Japan. The tour was very comprehensive and he took us to all points of interest in Yokohama, explained with details and gave us tips what museums to visit. He is very personable and very professional. Definitely one of the best tours we had so far in Japan. We definitely recommend him is so worth it. We love Yokohama!!
I absolutely enjoyed Jack’s tour! Even though I’ve visited Yokohama 5 times before, this walking tour gave me more reasons to love this city, so I’m so glad to take this tour, The day before the tour, Jack asked if it would be possible to start a bit earlier. Unfortunately that didn’t work for me, so I suggested the following day instead. It turned out I was the only person booked, so I ended up with a private tour! It felt so special. Jack could have canceled, but he didn’t. Instead, I learned so much about Yokohama’s history, along with lots of fun and interesting local stories which I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. It was the best 2+hours in Yokohama. Jack is incredibly professional and honestly one of the best communicators I’ve ever met. He sent clear WhatsApp directions to my hotel (which I truly appreciated — Yokohama Station is no joke!), and he also shared fantastic recommendations for day trips. I visited Kamakura (today!) based on his suggestion, and it was exactly as he described: beautiful, scenic, and full of impressive temples. I can’t recommend Jack highly enough.! And I forgot to mention that he’s a teacher and speaks fluent English too!
Jack was a knowledgeable guide and very informative about the history of Yokohama. We just missed the light shows, as they ended a few days before our arrival, and the Cup Noodle Museum was closed for renovation, so we couldn’t visit this time. Thank you for your time — it was great having a guide during our visit.
This was my first visit to Japan, and I wanted to get a feel for where I was staying in Yokohama before chasing off into Tokyo. Jack was the ideal guide to show me around, starting with the history of Yokohama (and some of Japan) pointing out landmarks and points of interest as we walked. He is full of knowledge and very entertaining. The two hours went by so quickly but we covered a fair distance and seen so many interesting places.i would recommend Jack as a guide, 100%.
We had an amazing time with Jack! Very professional, friendly, informative and really helped us to navigate any questions we had. He really went above and beyond. Highly recommend this tour!
