Tour guide loves talking about himself

If you take this tour, keep in mind that the tour guide loves talking about himself and making jokes. Standing in the rain while he mocked Norwegians for being so introverted was definitely not on my bingo card. I came to see Bergen, not attend a comedy show. Some of his jokes felt a bit offensive, especially as someone from Eastern Europe myself. He also speaks quite fast, which made it hard for some people to follow. All in all, the tour was decent and I learned some interesting facts about Norwegians.

Entertaining couple of hours

I recently did a walking tour with Sami in Bergen, which was very informative, entertaining & fun. I've done many walking tours now & normally I would prefer them done by locals - but while Sami is a world citizen who has been living here a few years, I found it fascinating to hear about the Norwegian culture from his experience. As a budding stand-up comedian, it was delivered in a humourous & light-hearted way, which I thoroughly enjoyed. When we 1st started I felt like he was talking too fast & I was having a bit of trouble keeping up - but over time I got used to it (& he gives so much information, he probably needs to talk fast to fit it all in)!😁. So it's not a criticism, but just something that may need tweaking a bit. Thanks for the fun tour-keep up the good work Sami - may see you down under one day!

Will book a tour like this in any future city. Great Value.

Our Tour Operator guided Tour was cancelled on the morning of our departure to the airport so I quickly booked this TripAdvisor recommended Tip-based tour. Despite booking from UK the booking fee was 3 dollars per person. On the day, the guide suggested a tip at the end of the tour of 150 Norwegian Krona per person (approx £12). This was excellent value for a 2-hour and 40 minutes walking tour. Sami was excellent and painted a fantastic characterisation of Norwegian life. All of his food and drink recommendation were excellent (apart from the Sostrene Hagelin which I was disappointed with). He gave us all a sample of local brown cheese which reminded me of Caramac. The only warning to others is that we went up and down some steep cobbled streets so have sensible footwear.
