Bergen-Modalen-Bergen via Mostraumen with our family run company! This tour takes you through steep mountains and deep fjords, starting at Zachariasbryggen and heading towards Modalen. As we leave Bergen, we pass the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bryggen, as well as the historic areas of Skuteviken, Sandviken, and Old Bergen. The journey continues through ancient Viking landscapes to the famous tidal current Mostraumen, where you’ll experience dramatic and untouched scenery. Enjoy the taste of freshly made waffles as you cruise through the fjords, and listen to stories from your local guide on board. Departure 1: 11.00 from Zachariasbryggen by Fisketorget. We will return to Bergen and arrive ca 14.30. Departure 2: 15.00 from Zachariasbryggen by Fisketorget. We will return to Bergen and arrive ca 18.30. Experience Fjordcharter Norway's 3.5-hour round trip between Bergen and Modalen. The tour will take you between steep mountains and deep fjords, starting at Zachariasbryggen and heading towards Modalen. On the way out of Bergen we pass the famous "Bryggen i Bergen" old Skuteviken, Sandviken and past old Bergen. The trip continues through the old Viking country and the famous tidal stream, Mostraumen offers wild and beautiful scenery. Departure: 11.00 from Zachariasbryggen v/Fisketorget. We will return to Bergen and arrive 14.30.
Hamre was one of the first places where Christianity arrived in Norway at the beginning of the 11th century, and one of the first places where a church was built. The original church was built in 1024, whereas the one you see today was built in the 17th century.
Mostraumen is a man-made canal connecting what used to be a lake to the fjord. Is is a very narrow passage surrounded by steep mountains.

This fjord tour was exactly as described on Viator. It was easy to get tickets online, and I received reminders and confirmation of booking ahead of time. The fjord tour was beautiful - allowed us to see so many beautiful rural areas just outside of Bergen. Comfortable to ride on the boat - plenty of room and indoor seating with window views, and easy to go outside whenever we wanted and back and forth as many times as we chose. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful.
As boat tours go, this is a strong one. It's a little long but comes with spectacular Fjord views. Despite what they say, the right side is definitely better.
We took this 3.5 hr ride on a speedy yacht. Warm inside with lots of windows, snacks ,and wc. The boat would slow down for prime views and took a different route on its return. A wonderful experience with guided commentary continually. Highly recommend.

Great experience. Really enjoyed being on the water looking at the fjord, waterfalls and Viking settlements. Also, the history was fascinating along the way.
This was an enjoyable trip out of Bergen and back. It was one of the few days of no rain, so we were very fortunate. We got a good sense of the fjord experience… saw waterfalls and small communities.
The boat is comfortable with a good snack bar. The staff is very kind, helpful and knowledgeable about the sites being passed along the shore. Even on a rainy day it was a lovely experience.
The entire crew, from ticket takers to the cafe workers, the engineer, and the captain, were so incredible friendly. (My little guy got to go into the crew-only area and learn how they navigate the fjords!). The tourguide did a wonderful job orienting us to the landscape and the people who live in these remote areas, and was so lovely to chat with afterwards as well. The facilities were very comfortable, and while we spent the majority of the time on the back deck (definitely wear your rain gear and pants, no matter the weather, it gets chilly!), it was easy to find space inside as we needed. The turnaround point is truly, truly spectacular.
One of our favorite experiences of our trip! Beautiful, educational, comfortable and cultural. The waffles with sour cream and jam aboard the boat was unique and the guide was so interesting.
