We were frankly very disappointed. Contemporary art is certainly subjective, but at this stage it is difficult to find it inspiring. When you walk around the halls, there's not really any consistency. Some of them are almost empty. There is pottery placed on vulgar metal shelves protected by a kind of Plexiglas... And what about the temporary exhibition? Empty room or almost empty... some uninteresting objects... A suitcase placed in the middle of nowhere (see photo). We sympathize for this artist who exhibited all her flower frames. Too bad because the interior of this museum is very good and the location interesting. Note that the young man at the reception -and who sold us the tickets- is very nice.
great contemporary art museum - especially good for graphic design. Accessible by tram from anywhere in Amsterdam. Audioguide comes as standard with museum ticket.
We’re glad to hear that you appreciated our collection, that’s exactly what we strive for. We regularly add new works to the collection display and have many wonderful exhibitions coming up. We’re also glad to hear that you enjoyed the audio tour. We hope to welcome you back soon for a new exhibition!
One of the most boring museums of modern art i‘ve ever been too (and i‘ve seen a lot). They should close it or make a design museum out if it.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear that the museum did not meet your expectations. Art can evoke different reactions, and we appreciate you sharing your feedback with us. We hope to welcome you again in the future.
Very good temporary exhibition
Everything perfectly worked out. Tolles Museum.
We came for the exhibition «Erwin Olaf - Freedom» and were overwhelmed by amazing pictures. What a fantasy that man had, a sense of the perfect light and a very deep commitment to the proselytized persons.
Good but collection a bit disappointed
Very impressive exhibition of all the work of Erwin Olaf.
Fantastic experience. Beautiful pictures and impressive stories. Nice videos. What a talent. Special. Busy laundry to do.
Good exhibition. Bold themes. Recommended to go in the morning. Nice location. Lots of room. Light is good. Highly recommended.
