Anna, a graduate student of viticulture, gave us a lovely wine tour in Athens and was deeply knowledgeable about wine growing and wine making. We toured three bars that provided wine pairings with local Greek wine. It was a wonderful first tour in Athens that helped us identify our favorite wines for the rest of our visit. We visited Santorini, Bar and Corfu afterwards and were able to purchase the Assyrtiko, Aidani and other wines we had tasted on this tour. Make this tour one of your first in Greece and you won't be disappointed. It was a fabulous introduction to Greek wines.
We visited as a couple, and the tasting was very nice and relaxing. We achieved our goal of getting to know different Greek grape varieties. Our guides were friendly, and we had engaging conversations about wine. I would also like to highlight the excellent cheeses that were served alongside the wine.
This tour is a great way to learn about Greek wines. We knew absolutely nothing about these wines so we decided on this tour. Our guy was a very pleasant and professional young man named Chris. He guided the four of us to three venues we would never have found. The we sampled to each of roses, whites and red wines. He was very careful to make sure we enjoyed our experiences and was a joy to be around. I highly recommend this tour.
George did a fine job of walking us to 3 different places for wine tastings. He was knowledgeable about the 6 Greek wines as were the hosts of each place. Would recommend this tour!
I had a tour with Anastasia who was very informative about wines in Greece in addition she was very informative about the culture of Greece. The experience was very enjoyable and I would highly recommend any person who loves wine to gives this a go. The 3 venues were also fantastic venues which you’d normally miss if just travelling through Athens. Highly recommend to any travellers! 5 stars!
I went with my best friend to celebrate my graduation and we had an incredible time, George was a great guide through it all and all of the Wine Bars were expectional! Would highly recommended!
Our guide Camille was lovely and she showed us some extra cultural spots near our locations because we had some extra time between stops. I would have liked a little more information from the sommeliers and servers about history and culture related to Greek wines.
Dear Samantha, Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! We’re so glad to hear that Camille made your experience special by showing you some additional cultural spots. Regarding your comments on the wine tastings, our wine bars generally provide insights into the wines they offer, including their history and cultural significance. However, we understand that every experience can vary, and we're not sure what may have caused a deviation during your visit. Rest assured, we’ll take your feedback and ensure that our future guests continue to enjoy a well-rounded experience. We truly appreciate your input and hope to welcome you back for an even more enriched experience next time!
It ended up being just me and my husband for this tour and we had such a great time. George was our guide and he took us to several very cool, small wine bars—we were fed sooo much food. We learned a lot about greek wine and we really enjoyed it.
If you get a chance to take this walking tour, it was a very pleasant walking tour. Great wine and meats & cheese platters. George our guide was great. I would recommend this tour if you love wine.
We booked this wine tour for the day we arrived in Athens . When we met Chris we were surprised to find out this the tour would just be my best fiend and I . She greeted us with such pleasure and enthusiasm we instantly felt at ease. She took us to 3 very unique wine bars that I am confident we never would have found on our own . Each spot included a snack and a few wine tastings . Chris shared her knowledge about the history of the wine , the region and the unique cheeses and snacks . We left the tour feeling like we had made a new friend . Highly recommend and ask for Chris !
