Join highly recommended Grape Escapes Germany for this more personal tour through the Rheinvalley from the wine capital Mainz Enjoy the scenery and stunning vineyard views as you discover wines form historical & boutique Riesling estates. Take in the romantic medieval villages along the Rhine River as it curves its way down to the famous village of Rüdesheim. After tasting several wines we will stop for a light lunch of local wine tapas. Rhine And wine vibes
Here we will enjoy a tasting and learn about Riesling from the famous 900 year old winery. When the weather is nice the tasting will be in the palace gardens
Enjoy the views and try world famous sweet Riesling from the one of the oldest Riesling estates *note if sweet rielsing is not your prefernce we will visit a different boutique winery

This tour starts from the Mainz and Wiesbaden area. Pick up is possible from Frankfurt / Frankfurt airport for a transfer fee of €75 paid on request. Let me know if you have a pick up request Additional locations may require an additional pick up fee based on time/ distance.

Carl was a very fun tour guide that started off and finished our day with a bottle of sparkling wine. We went to 3 different Reisling wineries and tasted many different variations of Reisling and had a yummy meal in the middle. He was even able to accommodate my wheat alergy. We had a small fun group and a lot of laughs.
We booked the half day tour “Wine tour along the Rhein - Rheingau” through the Grape Escapes website and Carl made it easy by keeping in touch and answering any questions we had. Pick up and drop off were convenient and easy to find, our little wine group (3 groups of 2) had a blast and we NEVER went thirsty. We tasted a decent variation of wine (some so good, we’ll be shipping them home!), saw some charming wineries, vines, and landscapes, and had a couple bites in between. Carl was knowledgeable, friendly, and kept us on schedule while also keeping in mind our preferences (which I thought was a nice touch). I also appreciated that we had access to water both on the road and at the wineries so we could keep hydrated. Based on our experience, we would absolutely recommend a wine tour with Carl and Grape Escapes! It was a lovely way to spend the day. If we’re ever back in the area, we’ll be sure to look into another tour.
