I was super impressed at how well Andreas easily switched back and forth between English and German, and always managed to keep everyone interested. He was a wealth of knowledge and information.
It was very friendly, easy going and very informative, but so cold that we always wanted to keep moving. December 29th!
Great tour (1.5hrs) and our guide was from Mainz so knew a lot. I enjoyed the evening tour as I could go back the next day and see it all in the daylight. We were provided a good overview of Mainz and its connection to Wiesbaden and sites to see. Also provided a few eating/drinks recommendations.
Andreas guided us wonderfully through the evening Mainz with extensive knowledge. We got to know many details about Mainz history.
What an excellent tour and taking an evening event was even better. Andy our guide was truly passionate about his town. He was very knowledgeable and told us interesting stories about Mainz. He went at a relaxed pace and took the time to answer our questions. We were lucky that it was a small group and the others were interested in Andy’s presentation. We learned so much about Mainz’s history but Andy added some interesting tidbits that we will remember rather than just historical dates, although timelines are important. An example would be about the stirrups and how the women had to remove all the rubble after the bombings Mainz is a wonderful city and talking the tour made our visit even better. Andy has the knowledge and the passion and made this tour a special experience. Definitely worthwhile. Thank you Andy ! Roxanne and Brian
Such a great way to spend an evening in Mainz! You get a full picture of the city’s history, from its Roman roots right up to the present day. What really makes it special is hearing it all through the eyes of a local—his knowledge, pride, and passion for the city shine through and make the tour so much fun.
Andy was very gracious and knowledgeable about the city. We would highly recommend him as a guide. It was very enjoyable.
