Marvellous Melbourne Aquarium!

Melbourne aquarium always has so much to see and do. We loved all the exhibits, especially the penguins, but it's a shame that they don't have the big tank to swim in at the moment (not sure if the aquarium are fixing it?)

A peaceful underwater journey in the heart of Melbourne.

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium is one of those places where I can easily spend hours. I visited during the working week, Monday to Friday, and for me this is the best time to come: it felt peaceful, quiet, and not overcrowded. The visit feels like a slow walk through different underwater worlds. I especially loved the colourful coral displays, the bright tropical fish, the delicate seahorses, and the beautiful movement of marine life under the blue aquarium light. Some tanks feel almost meditative — you just stand there and watch the colours, shapes, and quiet rhythm of the water. There is something here for every age. Families with children will enjoy the interactive zones, but it is also a lovely place to visit solo or with friends. The aquarium includes many different areas, such as Penguin Playground, Ocean Invaders, Night on the Reef, Rocky Shores, Rainforest Creatures, shark displays, seahorses and cuttlefish, and the new saltwater crocodile exhibit with Coowonga. I also enjoyed the variety beyond the ocean exhibits. The Rainforest Creatures area gives visitors a chance to see animals such as lizards, turtles, frogs, mudskippers and Green Tree Pythons, while the shark displays include species such as Grey Nurse Sharks, Port Jackson Sharks and Necklace Carpet Sharks. The Rocky Shores area is also a lovely addition, giving a closer look at small rockpool creatures and shoreline life. The penguins are always a highlight — funny, charming and full of personality. The seahorses were another favourite of mine: delicate, unusual and almost magical to watch. Overall, SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium is a must-visit attraction in Melbourne. It is educational, relaxing, beautiful and suitable for all ages. I would happily return again, especially on a quiet weekday when you can enjoy the exhibits slowly and peacefully.

A wonderful self paced experience for all ages!

It was a magical experience learning and exploring the different creatures that live in the water. A self paced experience where you could spend hours just watching the wonders of the fish. Very open floorplan, so you never feel crowded. The staff are passionate about their work and the creatures they care for. It was a pleasure to speak with Milo during the Jellyfish experience that Sea Life Melbourne offers. Very sociable and kind!

Memorable visit with a giant crocodile

I really enjoy SEA LIFE, though the ticket price feels a little high. Even so, I had an amazing visit with my partner. The standout attraction was definitely the enormous crocodile. They also feature Happy Feet in 4D, but that experience was quite overwhelming for me!

A lot of artificial stuff and playing stuff and very little information about the fishes and other species and the noise is just so incredible.

Fun outing lots to see!

Too many prams allowed in at once, crowded. But an enjoyable outing with lots to see. Not too many staff members around to ask questions unfortunately.
