Our contact was very kind but did not know much about Santiago de Compostela. He was more like a driver with some basic history than a guide who knew the area. He did not know about the church or area. He didn’t even have a lunch recommendation. We were disappointed.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear that our guide was kind and professional during your tour. However, we are truly sorry to read that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our Santiago de Compostela tours are generally designed as guided experiences, where the guide provides general information about the itinerary and the region, while the visit to the monuments and free time in the city allow guests to explore at their own pace. That said, we take your comments very seriously and will review them internally to ensure that the nature of this experience and the level of guidance provided are made clearer in the future. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continuously improve our services. Kind regards, Touch Tours Team
Julio our tourist guide was very knowledgeble of the place. He had a great sense of humor which kept us awake during the trip. He made sure we were comfortable and safe the entire tour and also made sure we would get to the church before the start of the mass which was very important to us. He recommended a restaurant to go for lunch. He made made suggestions into what was the best dish on the menu. We were lucky to have him as our tour guide.
We were blessed to witness the swinging of the botafumeiro in Santiago de Compostela. David was great and very knowledgeable . He did not rush us so we were able to really enjoy our tour. He was also very considerate and attentive to my husband who just recently injured his knee. Thank you David for a very memorable experience!
Excellent experience! Our tour guide Julio was very accommodating and very knowledgeable! We were educated on local Galicia cuisine and the rest. Great History information about Portugal 👍🏼
Amazing experience great tour person very knowledgeable and friendly. The places the tour person took us were very nice 😊
Santiago de Compostela is a spiritualized and great place to recharge the vital energies. Cathedral is wonderful
This tour was well worth the travel time to get there. This was a magnificent spiritual experience. The priest were very accommodating for a non Catholic visit. The history and stories of the souls who embraced the space I felt.
Our Tour Guide, David, was a wealth of information! As we traveled from Porto to Santiago de Compostela we received a history lesson. It was engaging and informative, which we appreciated and the travel time went by fast. Once we reached the city of Santiago, David got us around quickly and efficiently. We stayed ahead of the crowds, made it to Mass then visited the tomb of St James and hugged the statue. It was amazing! On the ride home, David answered questions we had about Green wine and the various nuances of Port wine. It was a delightful day, exceeding all my expectations and I had very high expectations.
Carla was excellent. She was flexible to meet our wishes, very informative but not overload. She helped us inside the cathedral so we wouldn’t miss any experiences.
Our trip to Santiago de Compostela from Porto started early in the morning with an 8am pick-up. It was an all day trip so I suggest you get breakfast before hand. The weather was glorious and even though it was a 1.5 hour ride (in a comfortable Mercedes van), it went by quickly with Alex, our tour guide, educating us about the landscape and the landmarks along the way. Upon our arrival just before noon, we were able to attend the mass with the Pilgrims who take the 500 mile trip through Spain to arrive there after their long journey. It’s a magical town and we met up with my friend’s family who took us to lunch at a very special, local restaurant that we wouldn’t have found without them. We had such a lovely day and I wish we had more time to explore. On the way back, we stopped at Valença do Minho for lunch and shopping. I would recommend this day through Touch Tours (with Alex as your host).
