We DO NOT offer pick-up from Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, the Porto coastal area, or other locations outside the city center.
Whenever possible we stop at the city of Peso da Régua, an historical city of the Douro Valley associated with the commerce of wine. Here we provide our guests a brief explanation about the city and allow some free time for a coffee and pictures.
Quinta do Tedo is one of several wineries that we can visit on our tour. In this visit you will learn about the wine-making process of Quinta do Tedo with a local guide. It includes a guided wine tasting session where you will be explained about the different wines to be tasted. NOTE: wineries or order of wineries visited may differ depending on their availability NOTE 2: Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.
In the heart of the Douro Valley you will have the chance to visit Pinhão. In the past Pinhão used to be an important place for commerce and transport of the wine from Douro to Porto. The wine was first commercialized and next shipped in the traditional Rabelo boat to remain aging in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the river in Porto. In the village of Pinhão we stop for a 1h river cruise as well as we have lunch at a traditional local restaurant. NOTE: Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.
Most of the tour has the Douro river as the scenic scenary through the day. The wineries that are visited offer incredible views to the river.
Quinta do Beijo is the second winery of several wineries that we can visit on our tour. This is a small local winery with very good wines that can not be bought in the city. The visit is usually done by the owner of the property himself while he tells you more about the production and the flavors of its wines. NOTE: wineries or order of wineries visited may differ depending on their availability NOTE 2:Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.
We will drive back to Porto from Douro Valley and return close to 6:00 PM (depending on traffic), where our guide will leave you at your selected drop off point.

We absolutely recommend this trip while in Porto. The wow factor is on full display around every corner. You must, repeat must ask for Sheila as your guide. She is a born and raised Porto native who is a treasure, and so much fun to be with. Once you see her navigate those mountain roads you’ll understand why she is your only choice. The wineries tours are great fun, the boat ride on the Douro river is breathtaking…..but the crown jewel of our tour was the lunch at a traditional Portuguese joint that was too good to put into words. Absolutely recommend this tour.
We were met by our tour guide Pedro promptly outside our hotel as pre arranged at 8am. What a great guide. Names exchanged he referred to us all individually by name throughout the day which made it feel like a more personal tour. Our group of 6 was accompanied by another couple but by the end of the tour it felt like a group of 8. Pedro was like an encyclopedia of knowledge who delivered it non stop throughout the day with loads of humour. The scenery was stunning, wine and port delicious and river cruise fully relaxed with plenty of vino. I would fully recommend, great value for money.
Absolutely worth every penny. The drive out and back are filled with scenery. The wineries tours and boat ride are great. The lunch was to die for ! All around a fantastic full day !
Great experience from start to finish. Pedro was an excellent informative guide that kept things interesting throughout the day. Would certainly recommend this trip for anyone wanting to experience great wines with impressive scenery. The Valley was amazing
The day was awesome from start to finish! We got picked up at our hotel and our guide, Luís, was waiting for us outside. Right away he was friendly and engaging. As we made our way to through the countryside he told us fun stories and made the trip enjoyable. The first stop was at a small village pastry shop. Then back in the van for a drive through absolutely stunning scenery: terraced vineyards, winding roads, and sweeping mountains. Our next stop was a small vineyard for port tasting. Back in the van for a drive alongside the Duruo River. The next stop was the dock for the river cruise: A gentle sailboat ride with some wine. The cruise was just long enough to get a feeling for the river. Back in the van to our lunch spot for an authentic Portuguese meal (with more wine 😄) . Back into the van for the next leg of the tour: up and up through switchbacks and mountain roads to the final small family run winery. Then time for our final trip: the ride home. It was a full day! Luis shared insights, answered all our questions, had everything set up for us along the way which made the trip worry free and so enjoyable! Luís really went above and beyond to make the trip special. Something I wish I knew before we left: the region gets REALLY hot during the day! (We travelled during early August.)
A wonderful tour with delicious food, amazing wine, and even more amazing sightseeing. My family had the tour to ourselves, and Joana took excellent care of us and was perfectly on-time for picking us up, making sure we were on schedule the entire day. Travelling throughout the Douro Valley felt like going back in time. Endless photo opportunities and the views from the lookouts we stopped at were unreal. When we return to Portugal, we will definitely be doing another tour, and without a doubt, we will be asking for Joana to guide the way- she’s a walking encyclopedia and extremely friendly. A perfect way to spend the day and well-worth the money - I cannot recommend it enough, especially if it is your first time in Portugal.
Seeing the amazing Douro valley is a must when visiting Porto. A long day but worth it. Stops along the way to eat and drink all great. Pedro was our guide and made the day for us!
Wineries are good, especially the second which is very chill. The scenery of Douro valley is unique.
This was a great tour. We visited 2 port wineries and tasted different ports. The explanations about each wine and how they were transformed from grapes to wine was informative and easily understood. The Duoro Valley is so pretty and we made several stops for picture taking. The lunch was delicious and made with ingredients from the region. Our driver and tour guide, Edwardo, was very informed and made sure we saw and did what we came for and even more than I expected. It was a fun day for all of us in the van.
Dear Gerald, We're delighted to hear that you had such a fun and memorable day in the Douro Valley. Fantastic tour! Our guide Tuna was highly knowledgeable about the culture and the vineyards. Douro Valley was beautiful and the boat ride was refreshing in the heat . The car was comfortable and air conditioned. Highly recommend!
