Ballooning in the Cradle of Mankind was our reason for visiting Muldersdrift as part of a birthday celebration. This was our 8th balloon ride in various spots around the world and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Air Ventures is a professional and experienced operation and the whole ballooning experience was well run and smooth. We were picked up from our accommodation at additional cost (and possibly a touch early - ended up waiting at Kloofzicht Lodge for well over an hour which seemed a bit long). The morning we flew they had two balloons going up and we were in the smaller basket for our Safari Flight which was a nice size. The balloons were 80% inflated when we arrived at the launch site and as always it was fabulous to watching the filling of the final 20% and their eventual lift off from the ground before all the passengers were helped into the basket. Safety was paramount and compared to other excellent operators (and some terrible ones) this was a 100% safe and professional set up from cold-air inflation filling and launching, through the flight itself and the landing. We have, over 7 other balloon flights, never, ever seen a balloon get parallel parked onto its trailer - absolutely amazing - kudos to Harold our excellent pilot. We would have given our eye teeth to get our hands on a cap as a souvenir - just for their great embroiderered badge/patch which would have ended up on our bags next to ballooning souvenirs from Burma, Queenstown etc. - please, guys - get some postcards and patches made up! Highly recommend, lovely flight up and through the gorge and we even saw rhinos - our first rhino viewing ever.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Marius was an incredible host and pilot, he made the experience a whole lot more memorable. The views were incredible. I recommend 100%. It was totally worth the early and cold morning.

Well organized event, safety was number one priority, very professional staff. Saw Rhinos, Zebras, Kudos, Impala, Ostrich and wonderful scenery.

Really enjoyed the experience. Marius as a balloon pilot was very friendly and informative. He made sure we were aware of safety protocols and what we need to do to make sure we have a safe and pleasant flight. He was also very friendly and enthusiastic with pointing to us any wildlife sightings. The flight departed on time and a pleasant chat over some sparkling wine made the whole experience more than just a tour.

Just do it! It is the best thing you can do in the air. From silent smooth flying to viewing the landscapes from the air. It is so incredible to fly over the animals and trees. No fear of height is applicable here. It does not affect you at all.

I had high expectations going into this experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be very disappointing and absolutely not worth the money. First of all, the organization around transportation was poor. We had made clear arrangements regarding taxi pickup and drop-off, yet these were not properly honored. This created unnecessary stress and confusion early in the morning, which is exactly what you don’t want before what is supposed to be a relaxing and special experience. The flight itself was underwhelming. While the idea of a hot air balloon ride sounds magical, in reality, we were only in the air for around 40 minutes. For the price being charged, this felt extremely short and did not justify the cost at all. The overall experience lacked the sense of exclusivity and quality you would expect at this price point. The included breakfast was another major letdown. It was overpriced and of very poor quality. The food was basic, uninspired, and certainly not reflective of a premium experience. It felt more like an afterthought than a meaningful part of the package. What makes this particularly frustrating is the overall value proposition. When you pay a significant amount for an experience like this, you expect attention to detail, smooth organization, and a memorable, high-quality outing. Instead, it felt rushed, poorly coordinated, and underdelivered in multiple aspects. In summary, this experience did not live up to expectations in any meaningful way. Between the transportation issues, the short flight time, and the disappointing breakfast, it simply does not justify the price. I would not recommend AirVentures Hot Air Ballooning to others.

Awesome experience. We enjoyed it a lot. Mark our pilot, did a great job. A true joyful experience.
