Two day Kruger National Park Safari from Johannesburg

We had an incredible one night, two day tour to Kruger national park. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and was in communication with others to do everything he could to help us see everything we wanted. The tents and beds were very comfortable (even had electric blankets) and the campsite felt safe and secure. The food we were cooked for dinner was incredible and there was plenty of it. I booked this tour expecting other people to be on it but it ended up just being my partner and I which was extra special. The only reason I deducted one star is because the public transport from Johannesburg to the point where we met our guide was not clearly communicated when booking and not very comfortable. Also, the night safari that we did which was run by Kruger national park (as no one else is licensed) was not very enjoyable as we were in a big, noisy truck (probably fit 25+ people) that was not equipped for the bumpy, narrow dirt roads around Kruger. However the safari vehicle that we took during the day with our guide was great, and they even supplied blankets for the cold morning! We were very lucky as we saw all the animals we hoped to, but excluding the animals, we were very happy with the service which was provided.

Incredible safari both day and night. The staff, guides, and drivers provide exceptional service. The luxury camping is very comfortable, and the food is excellent. A memorable experience in the top 10 of a lifetime! I recommend this tour with this company; you will not be disappointed.

Everyone should experience this at least once in their life! Unforgettable! A must-see!

Great experience. Tour guys very friendly. Have one and half day at the nature reserve to searching wild animals. Nice dinner at outdoor. The camp was very clean.

The transport connections were excellent. All the pick ups and drop offs were on schedule and comfortable. The tour guides on the safari were very knowledgeable about Kruger Park and the animal inhabitants. They were very open to answering questions. They gave us ample time to see the animals when spotted. Keep your expectations low regarding the animal sightings, then when you see them your excitement level increases. The animals are on their own schedules and the guides can not guarantee anything. Kruger is woodland which makes it more difficult to see the animals. They can hide and camouflage themselves, which makes it more difficult to see them. And it was wonderful every time we saw any animals, from the snakes to the giraffes.

This was the best trip ever, we’re very upset we didn’t see any Lion but was not disappointed of all the animals we saw.

I recently took a trip to Mpumalanga and overall, the experience was okay, but there are a few things that need serious improvement. The biggest issue was communication. There was little to no clarity from the booking agency about departure and arrival times. Even finding the bus was confusing, and that’s a major problem. You can’t expect people to just figure things out, especially when they’ve been told where to wait and still end up getting left behind. That kind of disorganization sets a bad tone from the start. Another concern is the value for money. At the price charged, basic things like juice with dinner and eggs for breakfast shouldn’t even be a question. It feels like the experience is priced more for tourists who might not question these details, rather than locals who understand what fair value looks like. The lack of communication around the return time also caused unnecessary stress. Not knowing when I’d be back in Johannesburg meant I couldn’t properly plan transport from the airport, which is something that could have easily been avoided with better coordination. That said, not everything was negative. The sunset and morning tours were genuinely enjoyable and well worth it. And a big shoutout to Muzi and Roy, they really carried the experience. Their energy and professionalism made a noticeable difference. Overall, the trip had some great moments, but the poor communication and lack of attention to basic details held it back.

This is a whirlwind of a 2 day safari, but it is a great way to see Kruger and experience a safari in a short window of time. The team at Mbombela Tours is amazing and customer-focused. I had some issues with the transportation from JNB Airport to Nelspruit, but the constant communication channel from the activity provider representative was much appreciated. The team made sure we were always comfortable and satisfied with the experience. We saw many animals on the 2 safari drives....the full day is very long but well worth the time getting back and forth to Kruger. We were celebrating a 60th Birthday Wish to do a safari and the tour company came through with flying colors!!!

Wow! Just wow! Logistics getting out to Kruger were wonky, but the great customer service efforts made it work for me. Once there, the arrival at the glamping tents and subsequent 4 hrs evening tour were awesome! Dinner afterwards was scrumptious! Next day 9hr day tour (like 350 kilometers!) with breaks for breakfast and lunch, was even more outstanding. The close-ups of all the animals and how many different ones we saw were SO amazing! The mountains! The views! MJ was the day tour guide and he was terrific and SO knowledgeable! I can't say enough great things. In two days you see the min, but wish there was a 3 day option. But two days good, you see the animals you have dreamt of!

Our guide was very knowledgeable, and just very kind overall. We slept in the tents and they were extremely accommodating. We were able to see three out of the big five! It truly was an amazing experience and see all of those animals up. Close was just breathtaking. This is an experience. You wouldn’t want to miss.
