Danny is an excellent guide. He made the tour very interesting and informative. He was very knowledgeable and spoke about the human side of war, not just facts and figures. He highlighted the essential role of women during the second world war which was a real eye opener. Would highly recommend!
Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed your tour but this has nothing to do with me. I'm Stephen and don't know anyone call Danny and haven't been to the museum recently. Please post this review to the RAF Museum or the appropriate place where Danny can see it. Thankyou.
James Young was fabulous. His knowledge and presentation skills made for an absolutely fantastic visitor experience. At £10 this offered extremely good value. I could not endorse him more strongly.
Tour guide was worth his weight. Great museum. Covers a lot of material from early flying days to present
It was great to meet you and I'm s glad you had such a good time. Thanks so much for the review!
Wife booked me the Vulcan & Cold War Tour for my 50th birthday. Has massive Vulcan fan was great to get the cockpit tour and info with Alan. The tour then continued around the amazing collection of aircraft with volunteer, Sandra who was absolutely brilliant, full of info and stories about various aircraft in the collection. Lovely atmosphere with the staff, and well worth the trip from Angelsey. Sandra, thank you for a lovely tour and sharing your stories.
Great visit ,free to get in but have to pay for parking, 6 massive hangers charting the story of the RAF from station to present day. The only niggle, was some of the lifts were out of order so my misses couldn't access a few areas .I would recomend you allow 4 -4 1/2 hours to look around and absorb the displays
Whilst I am glad that you enjoyed your independent trip to RAF Hendon, please note you have left your review against my tours and not the museum itself/ You didn't do a tour with me and I am not responsible for the lifts being out of order. As you haven't experienced my business I would appreciate it if you removed your review and put it against the actual museum as it is detrimental to my tours business. Thankyou.
Absolutely brilliant place. Absolutely brilliant staff, just the perfect day out for any aviation lover. Loads of planes, loads of information and pictures to take. Ease of access to all the attractions. Brightly lit, clean and the aircraft were surprisingly dust free which must be a nightmare to maintain. Best thing of all is that this completely awesome place is FREE to enter. Check for opening time and prep book advised. We travelled up from Somerset and made a day of it. The food in the cafe there is quite good quality. Medium/good size portions. Good array of choice. Bit pricey but where isn't these days. Too be fair the cash you save on not paying entry fee can go on a cup of tea and a slice of cake 💖
Free entry, but have to pay for the car park which is £11 all day (£8.50 for up to 3 hours). The hangers were full of great quality aircraft, clear signs. It was fun to see some aircraft where there had been renovations and replicas with the original parts. There were some interactive stations which were fun. There were some additional activities such as simulators which were £5 per person. Had a great few hours here and loved the information, layout and the amount of aircraft.
Returned to RAF Museum Hendon with my son who has not been before. Booked a D-Day tour and as one I did before of first world war building - it was great. James Young’s knowledge and passion for some of his favourite aircraft shone through. Great introduction for my son of planes I knew a bit about, my uncles flew Mosquitoes & Hurricanes and facts I knew nothing about. Background stories on the part these aircraft played in D-Day and WW2 were delivered by a person who really has done his research. Well done James and all the people at RAF Hendon.
Great museum! Had all the WW2 planes on my must see list. But DO NOT order the beef burger at the restaurant...worst burger ever...
Every hangar had immaculate displays and to see inside so many aircraft was amazing. All the staff were polite and welcoming. It is a museum for all ages! Thank you for such a wonderful day out.
