Private Tour to Neuschwanstein Castle & Linderhof from Munich

Description
Skip the tourist buses and the 2-hour ticket lines. This private day trip takes you from Munich to Bavaria's two most iconic castles — with skip-the-line entry and a local guide who knows the stories the audio guides leave out. At Neuschwanstein, walk through the castle that inspired Disney — perched 200m above the Pöllat Gorge with 14 lavishly decorated rooms. Your guide brings King Ludwig II to life: the visionary who spent €350M on castles he barely lived in. At Linderhof, explore Ludwig's most intimate creation — the only castle he finished. Ornate gold-leaf interiors and a Hall of Mirrors rivaling Versailles in miniature. Between castles, lunch in Oberammergau — famous for its painted houses, artisan woodcarving shops, and a Passion Play tradition since 1634. Try the local gelato. Why this tour: private group (just you, no strangers), skip-the-line at both castles, customizable route, full day-trip from Munich and back! — no rushed visits. A local guide, not a script reader.

Itinerary
Our first stop is the world famous Neuschwanstein Castle upon the Southern-Bavarian Alps. Dive into the history of Ludwig II and learn about his mysterious and twisted life while marveling at his beautiful creation. His vision paired together with desire made such a piece of art possible. Enjoy your tour inside the castle aswell as a history excursion from your local guide!
travel onward to the village of Oberammergau, where the famous Passion Play is held once every 10 years. Here you will have some time on your own for lunch or to explore the cute little village and admire it's Lüftlmalerei. Your Guide will be happy to give you the best local suggestions for some authentic bavarian food.
then travel to Linderhof Castle – another of Ludwig’s former homes. Nestled deep in the forest, Linderhof was the castle where the eccentric king spent most of his time. Step inside to see its lavish rooms such as the Hall of Mirrors and the Audience Chamber, and then visit the outside Venus Grotto – an artificial cave said to be modeled on Capri’s Blue Grotto (at the moment the Grotto is closed for maintenance works until further notice).

I've been on many tours in multiple countries and this was, bar none, the best tour company. I've had other tours where they sneak in extra fees. However, this tour guide ((Mattis) made sure I always knew what to do. He'd take me as close as he could - even to the actual ticket gate if possible for a visit. For Neuschwanstein thre is a part where he can't go, but he walked me through exactly what time to be at the inner gate with my ticket, and what to do, and things not to miss inside. I felt completely at ease. Another company, the guy left me off in the parking lot to figure it out myself! Beyond excellent service. It was the most stress-free experience I had on my dozens of tours. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED tour operator!
fun day trip to iconic castles. our guide sandro was fantastic! he was very knowledgable and made it fun for our group.
Bruce was an amazing tour guide! He arrived on time and kept us on schedule all day without us feeling rushed! The alps and castles were absolutely stunning! Highly recommend booking this trip!
Lots of uphill walking and many steps in the castle. There is a horse drawn carriage ride for 8 euro to get you most of the way up the hill.
Bruce did an outstanding job on our one day tour. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Safe driver. Bruce is a great guide, and I would highly recommend!!
Don’t skip this castle! Our guide Matthew made the day seamless and worry free. Highly recommend this experience
We had a wonderful tour across Bavaria with Lucas as our driver and guide! We were promptly picked up from our hotel in central Munich for our tour of Neuschwanstein, Lindenhof, and Oberammergau. Lucas was always ready with tidbits of history for each place and perfectly coordinated our tour details and logistics so all we had to do was show up and appreciate the scenery around us! He was more than happy to answer all our questions and took into account any requests we had for the day. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to see Bavaria's castles and countryside in a day without having to deal with massive tour groups or transportation and ticket logistics.
Well worth the money. Our guide Matej was outstanding. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Time flew by on the drive with his explanation of the history and what we were about to see.
Bruce was a fantastic tour guide. He provided us with all of the historic information on what we were seeing. He had tons of details about the areas we were touring and driving through. He also gave us great recommendations for our stay in Munich. He was delightful and very informative. Highly recommend.
