You’ll weave through historic streets filled with colourful murals and backstreet graffiti before enjoying a delicious Melbourne coffee at an amazing, local social enterprise cafe. Learn about the up’s and down’s of these twin neighbourhoods and some of their most fascinating characters from an infamous criminal turned children's author, passionate football fans, the “Willy Wonka” of Australia, First Nations elders and recent migrants who have helped shape modern Australia. After exploring the evolving arts and live music culture of the area we’ll end with some refreshment and give you plenty of recommendations for places to eat, drink and shop when the tour concludes.

You will walk through the back streets to get to Smith Street, one of the earliest shopping streets in Melbourne and discover all kinds of stores from the first supermarkets in Australia to the latest pop-up local artist shops. You will also see some incredible street art along the way and learn the history of the area.

We hadn't been to these neighborhoods before and had an awesome afternoon learning more about Fitzroy and Collingwood . Our Guide Tristan was informative and it was obvious he loved the area, it's culture, art and music scene (and some pretty nifty short cuts ; ) It was so cool to be shown around by a local and getting inside tips on things that were going on like the cool markets with local artists work and great local souvenirs while getting to know about the area's past, present and future. A great way to get planning your next visit to the area. Get into it!
Collingwood is an inner-city Melbourne suburb, which was immortalized as "Carringbush" in Frank Hardy's epic novel "Power Without Glory." Collingwood is no longer a down at heel extension of Melbourne, it's super trendy with coffee shops, eateries, craft breweries and art galleries. Collingwood is a good place to walk around, you can get the vibe that this suburb famous.
