You’ll enjoy a downhill walk with your guide into the ruins of the Roman capital. Your route takes you past the Bouleuterion, Temple of Domitian, Hercules Gate, Temple of Hadrian, The Celsus Library, and The Great Theater. We would like to introduce you to the local cultural aspects of Ephesus by showing handmade Carpets and rug Art done. through traditional weaving in the Teaching Village and you’ll enjoy many Ephesus Ceramics as well.
After you’ve been welcomed your guide will take you to the House of the Virgin Mary on the top of the beautiful Solmissos Mountains. It is believed Mary spent her last living days.

We had a fantastic time in Turkey with the best tour guide we’ve ever had! Selcuk was very knowledgeable about the history of the House of the Virgin Mary and Ancient Ephesus. He took us to a local restaurant for lunch that also made Turkish rugs (double knot technique), The Women’s Co-op. Definitely check this place out…great food and beautiful handmade rugs. We rounded it out with a Turkish bath for all. I highly recommend selcuk - he is so knowledgeable and really knows how to navigate the crowds around these popular attractions. Selcuk was fantastic!! He is very knowledgeable about the history of Ephesus and the surrounding area and he knows how to avoid the crowds perfectly which aligned with our style too!! We toured the House of the Virgin Mary, Ancient Ephesus, had an amazing lunch at The Women’s Co-op and watched amazing rugs being made (our daughter even got to help a little) and ended our tour with a Turkish bath at Ira Spa. Toro was a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. The ancient ruins were a must see and our lunch at the co op was amazing. Seeing the carpets being made was impressive. Did not love the hard sell for carpets but it was easy to say no and move on. Great tour overall. Beautiful country and friendly people.
