Taylan was an outstanding guide and was incredibly knowledgeable. He patiently answered all of our questions and was attentive to our groups needs. This is a great tour for smaller groups if you are looking to engage with the guide/ other guests. I was appreciative that Taylan paid attention to where he thought the crowds would be the thinnest at certain points during our tour. A word of warning though, it can be HOT in the summer with little break from the direct sunlight, so try to book early in the day if possible!
Excellent tour. Pick up as arranged by cruise terminal. We were so fortunate to have Baris as our guide . He was so knowledgeable about Ephesus and Turkey as a whole. We learned a great deal and had many opportunities for photos The terraced houses should not be missed. It was a hot day but we kept moving enough to not be overwhelmed by the heat, yet we didn't miss out on anything. Would highly recommend this tour, especially if you get Baris as your guide.
Great trip, Baris was great, very knowledgeable and made sure we didn't miss anything. Definitely would recommend.
Amazing tour . Baris was so knowledgeable and very informative. So glad we did this tour, great value for money, thank you
Our tour of the House of the Virgin Mary, ancient Ephesus with Hati was amazing. Hati was so much fun to spend the day with-she was very knowledgeable and open to whatever our group wanted to do. From pick up to drop off - everything went without a hitch. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wishing to learn about Turkey and some of it's history.
Such a great experience. Tour does not include entry into Ephesus and Mary's house but highly recommend! I generally love history and learning abt ancient civilisations and the early church and so this was just up my alley. Company was very organised, everything was seamless from hotel pick up and throughout the day. Funda my guide was so informative- not only is she trained as a guide but also has a background in archaeology so had really interesting insight.
Işık was knowledgeable and excellent guide
Well worth the trip. Guide was very professional and attentive and the pick up and drop off was good.
This tour was amazing. Our guide Taylan did an awesome job as well. I would highly recommend this tour.
I'll start with the boring part, the logistics. Communication was tremendous about where to find them. We met at the cruise ship port. They were impossible to miss, and getting back on time was never a worry, they left plenty of extra time in case of something unexpected. Ephesus ruins were just incredible and awe inspiring. The world's best preserved ancient city. It's amazing to think your walking where Julius Caesar and the Apostle Paul walked. Not the same geographic location, on the same stones. While nothing could really follow that, the Turkish rugs were also very interesting, and the demonstration and hospitality was great. Unfortunately, we can't buy one now, but they actually got us to think about it! The Temple of Artemis is kind of a joke. There's only 1 pillar left standing, but hey, you can check it off, you have been to one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. And it you take a simple cell phone picture you will have the 3 faith traditions of Turkey/Asia Minor, so it's cool as a been there, done that break. The merchants are no joke. They REALLY want to sell you something. Be prepared to haggle. It's an art form there. Hate to say it, but if you really don't want to buy something, it's best not to engage them at all, because you are utlimately wasting both of your times, and you WILL buy something. Trust me on that. The best thing however was our guide Filiz, who is a warm, personable and brilliant woman and with us every step of the way. If you're lucky enough to get her, you will have a great experience.
