Kingdom Private Tours was the perfect option for our family's visit to England. Charles was able to create a custom tour that fit our desires to see Blenheim Castle as well as visiting a few of the Cotswolds villages all in one day. We had 8 family members ranging in age from 12 to 75. Being picked up directly in front of our London hotel was a prime benefit in selecting a private tour for us. We spent a lot of time walking, taking taxis, buses and the tube as we navigated England. So getting picked up on time right in front of the hotel was a luxury. Our guide for the day, Nick, was the perfect person to introduce us to the area. He was accommodating and enthusiastic about getting to know us as we spent a lot of time driving to our tour sites. He was engaging, friendly and easy to talk with. He also taught us about the places we were visiting which added much to our understanding of what we were looking at. The van itself was very comfortable. I would highly recommend Kingdom Tours to anyone interested in taking a customized tour in the UK.
Thank you for the truly wonderful and honest review. We are delighted you have enjoyed our services and we hope to see you again on your next trip in the UK.
Christopher was a great guide. Very warm and friendly. Took us to out of the way places like a brewery with honor system beer and a milk dispensing machine on an organic farm. Had time to wade in the water to beat the heat. Great Day!
Thank you for the wonderful feedback.
Wonderful tour. All the highlights. Peter was a great guide. Very accommodating to each person in our party.
Thank you for the feedback.
This was our first visit to The Cotswolds, so my wife and I needed a guide to help us make the most of the day. Peter was an amazing guide. Pickup at the hotel was easy and on-schedule. The drive was smooth and in a beautiful vehicle. Peter was knowledgeable about the area and gave us tips on what to visit and where to eat lunch. He provided the perfect balance of walking with us to help us get acclimated to an area, and then allowing us to explore on our own with a clear meet-up location after we were done. He was available via phone or text at all times. He was a smooth driver, both through London traffic and on curvy country roads. Peter took us to four different towns during the day, and we now have wonderful memories, pictures, and keepsakes for the day. Kingdom Private Tours was also excellent. Charles was proactive in his communication and was able to answer any questions that we had. There were no hiccups or surprises. All in all, it was a wonderful day that exceeded our expectations. We enthusiastically recommend both Peter and Kingdom Private Tours to others.
Wonderful feedback.
Had an amazing day trip out in the Cotswolds! Our guide Jay was outstanding & made our day trip all the more memorable & enjoyable. Thank you Jay! Highly recommend
Wonderful feedback thank you.
Our guide David Stubbs made our fabulous trip to The Cotswolds so much richer by not only pointing us to the “must-sees” of the English countryside, but the little-known, off-the-beaten path treasures, as well. In addition, he got us an advanced lunch reservation at the oldest pub in Britain (his idea, and it was lovely) and he gave us must-try-while-here meal recommendations so we could get a true taste of his country. Had we gone it alone, we would have missed so much. We also felt very safe and comfortable with him—very important for a group of four women. No wonder Rick Steves mentions him as a top guide for the London area!
Thank you for the wonderful feedback.
It is difficult to write a review that captures our truly outstanding experience. Booking was easy, communications with tour company was great. The van was clean and roomy, with a very smooth ride the entire way. And our driver/guide -- unbelievable! We have been on many local tours around the U.S. and Europe, both private and group tours, and have NEVER had such a fantastic guide! Nik was friendly, informative, funny, and knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects. We saw Burford, Stow on the Wold, Lower Slaughter, Bourton and Bibury. Yet we never felt rushed, and still managed to fit in a traditional Sunday "Roast Dinner" and a stop for local Cotswold ice cream. Our highest recommendation!!
Thank you for the wonderful feedback.
Douglas was an excellent driver/guide. Very personable and filled with lots of historical facts. The Cotswolds are stunning, with rolling hills, scenic rivers and streams, and beautiful little villages. Some of the villages can get crowded, but Douglas is pretty effective in keeping you out of them. The only reason the rating is not 5 stars is the lunch location selected by Douglas was very average. He also assumed we were buying his lunch, though that is not disclosed in the tour description, so you may want to ask your driver/guide.
Hello, thank you for your feedback. I am delighted you had a wonderful day with Doug. However I am compelled to point out your significant error in your feedback. You were very clearly told on the last message I personally sent you which I will copy and paste below that if you wanted the guide to come to lunch with you it is at your cost. You even responded saying perfect we will be ready. We cannot be held responsible if people are unable to read and digest clear messages. I’m not sure how else I could’ve communicated to you that if you ask the guide to attend lunch it is at your cost I would strongly urge you with all future tours to fully read all messages the operator I sends you. Marking us down on the tour for your error is really not fair and a little upsetting for your own mistake. As for thinking the pub was average these are countryside village pubs that have traded for hundreds of years these are not gourmet restaurants. This is Home cooking style food 99.9% of people.l this is part of the experience of touring the English countryside unfortunately this is clearly not your taste. For reference, please see below part of the message. I clearly sent the customer stating what I’ve mentioned above and below his immediate response. “Note lunch costs are at client cost themselves on the day itself, the guide will give you suggestions of locations and times and make any required reservations. This is normally at 1230pm for 1 hour. Feel free to ask your guide to join you but do not feel obligated to do so it is not part of the tour terms and this would be at your cost also. However the guide may prefer to eat on their own so do not be offended if they do. Perfect. We will be ready!” Kind regards, Charles
Our family of four (two boys, 11 and 8) from the United States had an amazing tour of Oxford and the Cotswolds with our guide Nik. Nik is a proper English gentleman with an abundance of personality and humor. He was engaged the entire day, making sure we prioritized what was most important to us and especially having fun and making it a memorable experience for us and our two boys. We also loved Oxford and the several Cotswolds villages we were able to see. It’s a beautiful area and we were blessed with great weather that day…which also meant larger crowds in some places, but Nik was inventive with managing parking/traffic. He also arranged a pub lunch stop for us that ended up being one of our favorite meals of our entire trip (The Stag at Stow). And as we drove back to London that evening, we had a lovely and wide-ranging conversation with Nik. And he was a safe and aware driver. We did a separate tour on another day with Kingdom Private Tours and had a similarly wonderful experience with a different guide (Jay). We would absolutely recommend Kingdom Private Tours and felt that we received a great value from our experiences.
Thank you for the lovely feedback.
Mohammad (Mo) drove us to Cotswold outside of London. He was a good driver, but had no historical information to share with us regarding the location. The cost of the tour for four people was 1365 pounds. Absolutely a waste of money as he was a glorified bus driver. The last time that I went to Cotswold on a tour I had a fabulous driver who had excellent historical information regarding the various towns and Cotswold. I had booked it through our hotel. I wish I had booked it through our hotel this time in 2025. I will never, ever book another trip through Viator. I asked for a partial refund, but they wouldn’t give it to me. We travel a lot and I will tell everyone I know to never ever book through Viator. Completely disappointed and completely ripped off.
Thank you for the taking the time to write your untruthful review. It speaks volumes on your character and your true intentions to just get money back! I don’t normally get the amazing guides to write the responses but below is what the wonderful Mo said really happened on this tour with this group. You will see what happened and then clearly understand the 1 star review is because they wanted money back and I said no as Mo did a great job as always and we delivered exactly if not way more then what was listed on the tour. I hope these people learn how to read a listing to actually understand what they book and learn not to drink so much when out on a tour. Please ignore this review as you will see the hundreds of 5 star reviews we actually have from trusted and honest clients. I would like to provide my statement regarding the recent tour to the Cotswolds, where a client complaint was made that I did not provide historical commentary during the trip. From the start of the tour, I explained the background and history of the Cotswolds, including its beauty, traditional villages, and countryside character. The group consisted of two families who were originally from England and already familiar with the area, mentioning they had relatives nearby. During the journey, Mr. xxxx, whose birthday it was that day, had been drinking and was quite talkative. He frequently spoke over me and shared his own experiences about the Cotswolds, making it difficult to deliver a continuous guided narration. Despite this, I maintained a friendly and professional attitude, ensuring the group enjoyed their time. I gave them extended free time in Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold for shopping, as they requested, especially to buy a jumper. Later, we visited Lower Slaughter for a pleasant walk and time at The Slaughter Country Inn pub. I allowed the group over 1.5 hours there — longer than usual — to celebrate Mr. xxxx birthday. Although I managed the tour with flexibility and patience, the late return to London (around 9 p.m., nearly two hours after the planned arrival) was a result of giving the group extra time to enjoy the day. In my view, the complaint is not entirely fair, as I provided commentary, allowed generous time at each stop, and did my best to adapt to the group’s mood and special occasion.
