Priene, Miletus & Didyma: Small Group Tour from Kusadasi / Selcuk

Description
Priene, sets dramatically at the foot of a sheer mountain wall. Priene overlooks the aptly named Meander River. This 2500 years old Ionian city was among the first to be planned with a grid system of streets. Miletos – These ancient ruins lie on a hill near the Aegean Sea. You can explore the ancient theater, built circa 4th century BC. The theater could accommodate over 15,000 spectators. Then, we visit the well-preserved Bath of Faustina, named after the wife of Marcus Aurelius, who ordered their construction. Didyma – In antiquity, Didyma was connected to Miletos by a sacred road. We visit the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, one of the largest temples from the Helenistic Period. Despite extensive construction, the temple was never fully completed. In the end of the tour, you go back to your hotel and stay overnight in Kusadasi.

We were the only ones on this tour so we were lucky to have our own private visit of Priene and Miletus. Priene is absolutely stunning and unique and arriving early enough there, we had the place to ourselves and could immerse ourselves even more in its past. The explanation of our guide: Cema,l were really great and thanks to him we now have a clear idea of the history of the region. We then went to Miletus and enjoyed Cemal's deep knowledge of the place! Since Didyma site was closed, Cemal suggested a few replacement options. We opted for the Temple of Artemis which was fairly interesting. Our guide made sure we were at ease and could get the best out of this visit.

This was my favourite trip for this visit to Turkey. The sites are lesser known than Ephesus but just as awesome if not better. This was a small group trip just me my partner and 2 others .. perfect 👌..all the sites were uncrowded which was lovely... our guide Vulcan was very knowledgeable and kept us well informed throughout the trip both at the sites and in the mini van, he clearly loves his job. The lunch was decent .. home made chips, chicken and salad delicious. Would highly recommend this trip .. don't miss out : )
Thank you for the 5-star review! Your positive feedback about our tour and guide makes us happy. The sites should be as well-known as Ephesus, but they aren't. We hope to see more people visit those places as well. Thank you again for your feedback, which always inspires us to provide better service. We hope to see you again in the future.
