Nestled on a hillside near Ephesus, this peaceful stone house is one of the most revered Christian pilgrimage sites. According to tradition, the Virgin Mary spent her final years here with St. John the Apostle, who brought her to Ephesus after the crucifixion of Jesus. Over the centuries, the site has welcomed countless pilgrims — including Pope Paul VI (1967), Pope John Paul II (1979), and Pope Benedict XVI (2006), each of whom visited and blessed the shrine. The story of its discovery is just as remarkable. A German nun, Anne Catherine Emmerich, described the house in vivid detail in a vision, despite never having visited Ephesus. Years later, French priests followed her descriptions and uncovered the remains of this very structure. Today, visitors can explore the beautifully preserved house, light a candle, and leave a wish in this serene and deeply spiritual place.
The Temple of Artemis – One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World Dedicated to Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt and the moon, twin sister of Apollo, this magnificent temple stood as a symbol of faith, beauty, and wealth in ancient Ephesus. Originally built around 650 BC on a site sacred to the Anatolian Mother Goddess Cybele, the temple was funded by King Croesus of Lydia, one of the richest rulers of his time. Ingeniously, it was constructed on marshy ground to help protect it from earthquakes — though over the centuries, natural disasters repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt the structure. Despite its ruins today, the Temple of Artemis remains a place of awe — a reminder of Ephesus’s ancient grandeur and its deep spiritual heritage.

Our tour guide was so nice and was making a real personal connection with me and my family. She made it feel like we were all one big family! The places were all so amazing and learning about the history was so interesting, making you always want to learn more.
Great experience and great knowledge of Fatima
canan was an awesome very knowledgeable and friendly. This was a perfect day
Friendly and knowledgeable. Polite with great transportation.
The tour was very informative and helpful. Highly recommend. Thank you Selin for being our guide
My guide was lovely and so was the driver. It is important to be prepared for some 'hard selling' stop offs that are thrown in - the carpet cooperative and a 'fashion show'. Neither of these were advertised but are 'extras' designed so that you spend more. I didnt appreciate this being sprung on me. I declined the fashion show but was too polite and went to the carpet place as it was as a learning opportunity about Turkish culture and artisan flair. It was interesting for about 10 minutes then the hard sell came and it was mega awkward and had to ask the guide to let me leave. My guide (Mart i think was his name) was super helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. I wish I had been asked if I wanted to go to to the 'extra stops' though.
Thank you for your feedback! As you can see, the third item in the itinerary clearly states "Kusadasi Shopping Center," where the art of traditional handwoven Turkish carpets is presented. Because of that, we are honestly not sure where the confusion came from. To give you a broader perspective, our tours include visits that showcase some of Turkey's traditional arts and crafts, which are an important part of the country's cultural heritage. These visits offer several benefits to travelers. After spending hours exploring archaeological and historical sites, they provide a chance to relax in a comfortable setting. Some guests enjoy learning about traditional craftsmanship, while others are interested in purchasing authentic souvenirs to take home. Every traveler has different interests, and these visits are included to accommodate those preferences. Our goal is to provide a complete travel experience. In addition to visiting historical and cultural landmarks, you have the opportunity to experience local cuisine and learn about traditional Turkish arts and craftsmanship. These visits are simply one part of that overall experience. We are still not entirely sure what caused the misunderstanding, especially since these stops is clearly mentioned in the itinerary. If you're not interested in these products, no one is forcing you to make a purchase. However, because this is a group tour, we need to follow the planned itinerary and provide all participants with the experiences included in the program. I hope this clarifies everything from your perspective.

This tour was so good. Air conditioned transportation to all of the stops. Tour guide Ozzy was very informative and professional. I really enjoyed the rug making lesson and food at the restaurant. I do wish we had more time to go to the museum at Ephesus.
