Itinerary
Meet with our licensed Tour Guide at 08:20am and depart immediately for Delphi archaeological site with our air-conditioned coach. The drive will last approximately 3 hours with a small stop of 25 minutes at a local cafe for a rest-break.
Delphi was the cultural and religious heart of the Hellenic world. Set in a stunning landscape, once considered the center of the world, where, according to mythology, two eagles sent by Zeus to find the navel of the world, met. The site, once sacred to Mother Earth and guarded by the serpent Python, later became Apollo’s sanctuary, built by Cretans arriving at Kirrha (the port of Delphi) accompanied by the god in the form of a dolphin. Such myths were celebrated in the Delphic festivals, like the Pythia and the Delphinia, with music and athletic competitions. Explore unique monuments such as the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo, the Athenian Stoa, and the Polygonal Wall with our expert guide, ensuring you don’t miss a thing.
Delphi Archaeological Museum hosts globally known pieces of Art like the Naxian Sphinx, the statue of Antinoos, the frieze of the Treasury of the Sifnians and the bronze Charioteer.
The last stop on our journey is the picturesque village of Arachova. Here you may enjoy your lunch or take a step back and admire the beautiful surroundings. Arachova is a charming mountain town on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, known as the "Winter Mykonos" of Greece. Famous for its traditional stone houses, cozy atmosphere, and stunning views, Arachova is a popular destination for skiing, hiking, and exploring nearby Delphi. Visitors can enjoy local delicacies like formaela cheese, shop for handmade textiles, and experience the town’s vibrant après-ski scene. Whether in winter or summer, Arachova offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and Greek hospitality.
After a full day exploring the ancient wonders of Delphi and the charming village of Arachova, return in the evening with your heart and camera full of unforgettable sights and memories. The drive will last approximately 3 hours with a short toilet break.

We did several tours across Greece with different operators, and looking back, this one felt quite average in how it was run. The Delphi site itself is undeniably beautiful, and the stop in Arachova for lunch was lovely. However, the timing provided throughout the day didn’t feel adequate and well thought out. Our group happened to be small, which helped, but I’m not sure how well the schedule would work with a larger group. Our guide wasn’t particularly insightful and seemed a bit too relaxed about meeting times. This meant we were repeatedly waiting for late participants at every stop. At one point, she didn’t notice that someone had been left behind, and we had to turn back to find them — causing about a 30‑minute delay on the return. The museum portion is about 1 hour, followed by 1 hour guided at the archaeological site, and then 20–30 minutes of free time to explore the upper areas (the theatre and stadium). We felt this wasn’t enough time, especially since it wasn’t made clear earlier that we’d need to explore those upper sections on our own. With better communication, we could have planned our time more effectively. Overall, the destination is incredible, but the tour itself could be better organised.
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to know you enjoyed both Delphi and Arachova. We are sorry to hear that the tour felt average and not as well organized as you expected. We do understand how frustrating it can be to be punctual and then find yourself repeatedly waiting for other participants. Meeting times are communicated throughout the day, and while our guides do their best to keep the tour running smoothly, delays can occasionally occur when participants return late to the designated meeting points. We also appreciate your comments regarding the time spent at the archaeological site. The tour includes a guided visit of the main areas, followed by free time for those who wish to continue up to the theatre and stadium independently. This approach is designed to accommodate different fitness levels, as the climb can be challenging for some visitors. That said, we appreciate your feedback regarding both the available time and the communication of the itinerary, and we will take your comments into consideration. We hope to see you again on another tour in the future. Best Regards, Tag Athens team
It was very well planned and executed - probably years of experience. However, most of the the journey was spent in the bus.
Thank you for your review. We’re pleased to hear that you appreciated the organisation and overall planning of the tour. As Delphi is located outside Athens, the itinerary includes a longer journey, and we hope the experience made the trip worthwhile. We look forward to welcoming you on another tour in the future. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
The tour guide and bus driver were very good. It is a long day, but worth it. The views are amazing and the town of Delphi was very nice. The lunch we had included was worth the additional cost and made it very easy. The only negative thing I can say is that the tour was scheduled to last 11 hours and we were finished within 10. It would have been nice to have 30-40 minutes longer in the town of Delphi.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the day and that the visit to Delphi was a highlight. We appreciate your thoughts regarding the time allocation and will keep them in mind. Thank you for the five star rating and we hope to welcome you on another tour soon. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
Well-organized day trip to Delphi. Micheal G. was a knowledgeable and charismatic guide and I appreciated that he had academic training in archaeology and Greek art. He wove myth and modernity together in a fun and engaging narrative through humor, culture, and personal anecdote. (Best wishes with your ongoing PhD!) Our driver, Apostolos, got us safely to and from our destination. Overall a good value for the price of the excursion, although I would have preferred more time in the museum and site instead of a stop in Arachova.
Thank you for your review. We’re glad that Michael’s academic knowledge and engaging storytelling enhanced your visit, and that Apostolos ensured a safe and comfortable journey. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the time spent at the archaeological site and museum, and we thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We look forward to welcoming you on another future tour . Best Regards, Tag Athens Team

Anastasia was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in every way. She had knowledge about everything Greek.
Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted to hear that Anastasia’s knowledge and helpful approach made such a positive impression on your experience. We look forward to welcoming you on another future tour. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
It was a very good trip, and our guide, Rita, was great and very knowledgable. She have a good introduction to the galleries at the museum and the different major structures on the archaeological site. The lunch in Arachova afterwards was also great! The only downside was the small audio guides, that were handed out. If you came too far away from the guide, they would lose connection. And as the group was quite large, it was sometimes not possible to stay close all the time.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re pleased that you enjoyed the guided visit and found Rita’s explanations informative and engaging. We also value your feedback regarding the audio guides and will take your comments into consideration. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
Our guide was excellent! Very knowledgeable and our tour was at the right pace. The history of the site was fascinating.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased that the guide’s knowledge and the overall pacing of the tour contributed to such an enjoyable experience. We look forward to welcoming you on another future tour. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
This was a long but wonderful day. The bus ride was quite comfortable with a midpoint stop that made it very leisurely. The museum was a great starting point before the walk up to the temple itself. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the day so enjoyable and educational. Our lunch was delicious. All in all I highly recommend this tour with the museum and lunch. 10/10 would do it again.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the whole experience, from the comfortable coach journey and museum visit to the guided tour and lunch. We hope to welcome you on another tour in the future. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
