Portland: Lighthouse, Old Port and Park 1-Day Tour from Boston

Description
Escape Boston for a full day along the southern Maine coast, blending scenic seaside walks, historic harbor towns, and iconic lighthouse views. Begin at Marginal Way in Ogunquit, a cliffside coastal path that winds along the Atlantic with uninterrupted ocean views and classic New England scenery. Continue to Kennebunkport, a postcard-perfect harbor town known for its historic homes, local boutiques, and working waterfront. Arrive in Portland in time for lunch in the Old Port district, where cobblestone streets, 19th-century brick buildings, and fishing piers set the scene for some of Maine's best seafood — this is the spot to try fresh, locally caught lobster on your own. Finish at Portland Head Light, Maine's oldest and most iconic lighthouse, perched dramatically above the rocky shoreline within Fort Williams Park, with sweeping Atlantic views to close out the day.

Sam was an excellent tour guide and driver. Easy to hear and good information. I only wish the vehicle would have been bigger or fewer people. It was a minivan designed for a family with children not 7 adults. My wife was cramped in the middle of the middle seat which is actually not a seat. There was a couple in the back seat and I don’t know how he managed to sit. The overall trip was good and the lobster meal was wonderful and very reasonable. The really sweet thing that Sam did was drop us off at our hotel so we didn’t have to get an uber.

Our guide and driver was superb. I only wish the van would have been bigger or less people. My wife was stuck in the middle of the mini van and it is designed for children not 7 adults. Sam was easy to hear and actually dropped us off at our hotel on the return.

The trip was absolutely lovely! The amount of time at each stop was perfect and Willy gave us good suggestions for things to do and places to go. There were chargers located in the van, but I highly suggest bringing portable chargers-you will taking a lot of pics of the beautiful scenery! My only complaint (and this is teeny-tiny) is that it would have been helpful to know not only the address to the meet up spot, but also the name of The Corner Pub. The way the instructions were written, I was a bit confused. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, I appreciated the time at each stop, and I felt that it was well worth the money spent!

Paco was going to be our driver, but Willy came to the rescue on his day off. He had fun jokes, was patient and accommodating. He even stayed one place a bit later and dropped us at our hotel. Choose Free Willy if you can!

Great way to see highlights of ME coast if you only have one day. Well paced and comfortable trip. Paco was great!
Tour and guide: 5 stars ... Communication: 3 stars --- Very good way to get out of the city and see some of the coast! --- Sam, our guide and driver was personable, knowledgeable, and a very good driver. Nice guy! And the small tour of 8 was great. --- Please correct your published information to indicate *7:30 AM* start. Every official communication advertises a 8:00 start, while the tour actually left around 7:30 AM. One couple was picked up first at the Omni Hotel, the rest of us received instructions to meet at Chinatown at 7:20 AM. --- Official info is confusing: "Pickup time may differ from voucher start time. Confirm with operator afterbooking. Check “Meeting & Pick-up” for details. Arrive 5–10 mins early. Departure from the hotel between 7:45am where can pick you up. Please contact tour operator to confirm the specific departure time." --- A text message the day before instructed us to meet at 7:20. I strongly recommend a change to the tour listing so people can plan.
Thank you again for your thoughtful and constructive feedback. We’re glad to let you know that, based on comments like yours, we have already updated our published tour information. The earliest pickup time is now clearly stated as 7:30 AM on our listing. We have also kept the following important note to help manage expectations: *"Pickup time may differ from voucher start time. Confirm with operator after booking. Check 'Meeting & Pick-up' for details. Arrive 5–10 mins early."* We fully understand that the previous listing caused confusion, especially when the actual departure was earlier than the advertised 8:00 AM. Our pickup schedule is flexible and changes daily depending on the number of guests and pickup locations (we have over a dozen pickup points). The guide coordinates the best route and timing, then notifies each guest directly – usually by text message the day before. Thank you for strongly recommending that we make the information clearer so future guests can plan properly. Your feedback has directly contributed to this improvement, and we truly appreciate it. We’re glad you still enjoyed the tour and Sam’s service, and we hope to welcome you again with a smoother experience from start to finish.
