Boston: Freedom Trail History Small Group Walking Tour

Description
Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! Your 2.5-hour tour travels from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace in the North End, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail. Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1775, the tumultuous period leading up to the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country. With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

Lin was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We really enjoyed hearing about the Revolution, from start to finish.
This was a fantastic tour! Our guide Toby was so knowledgeable about so many different things! It was a LOT of walking but somehow we didn’t even realize it. (Wear comfortable shoes for sure.) Toby really took us back in history and made the city come alive. The small group size was perfect, he knew who was with him and even caught a couple of us who had missed a turn at one point (very impressive) not something you would get with the large groups for sure. It was very inspiring to see how our country began and he took questions freely. We had a nice little break about midway through and ended up in the north end where Toby made an excellent recommendation for lunch! So glad we did the 9:45 slot it wasn’t too early after our night out before and it ended at a great time for lunch. Highly recommend this company & Toby for sure!
My third son graduated from high school in May 2026 so my 3 sons and I did a road trip to Niagara Falls and Boston. Kile D was our guide. He told us that he wanted to be a high school history teacher and it showed. He had much to say at each stop and at in between stops. Kile included many details and had a near flawless delivery of the information. We loved the walk and thought Kile was fantastic.
Guide was just ok - informative, but not very personable. Saw several other tour guides, some in costume, that were more animated and entertaining
Very organized and accurate history. Loved the pictures. It was an excellent guided Tour. Our guide was phenomenal!
Excellent! Mikayla M was super friendly, funny and incredibly informative. Seemed to know everything and was happy to answer my questions and chat on the walk. It was very well timed too and the advice for what to do after was awesome!
Last week 6 of us decided we couldn't just visit the pubs and sing Scotland football songs so we signed up for this tour. A few others in the group were Scotland fans so we were a mini tartan army, along with some Americans. Out guide Alejandro was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable and used a few picture cards to really enhance the experience. He was a very good communicator who was enthusiastic about the history of the American war of independence. Alejandro had a great sense of humour which added to the enjoyment. I learned a lot.
Excellent tour if you are interested in sites related to pre-Revolutionary War time period in Boston. Our guide was great, and the pacing of the tour and break was perfect. It was nice to end up in the North End to grab some lunch there as well. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting!
Excellent tour of old Boston freedom trail with exceptional information provided by Alex. She was both engaging and helpful, friendly and courteous as she guided us through the sites. Highly recommend this guide and tour !
