Great day out with a nice small group feel

Great day in Port Arthur. Could have done with another hour at Port Arthur and a quick stop at the lavender shop. While the minibus was average, it was great to be in a smaller group and the fellow-explorers were lovely.

A marvellous time thanks to a fully engaged guide

We went to Port Arthur via Tasman National Park and the unZoo followed by a return trip via Richmond, and had a spectacular time thanks to our incredibly knowledgeable, funny and personable tour guide with Tours Tasmania: Ian, an Arsenal-supporting (only just tolerable) former history teacher. He was brilliant. I learned more about Tasmania than I possibly could have imagined, from the flora and fauna and sea tides and the impact of climate change on all of the above to the colourful and ribald parts of the convict era and much more besides. His passion for the subject matter shone through and was infectious. Highly, highly recommended. Six stars.
