This tour is the perfect well-rounded experience of Bruny Island, highlighting the incredible scenery, wildlife, history and tasty local produce. Our own Managing Director, Craig Parsey, spent some of his childhood at Cape Bruny Lighthouse when his father was the Lighthouse Keeper. Our tours have been designed by Craig, providing a true local insight into Bruny Island.

Itinerary
Pickup from your selected Hobart hotel or nearby meeting point. Over 20 locations available across Hobart, including CBD, North Hobart and Sandy Bay, plus Kettering and Bruny Island. Departure is at 7am from the main Hobart meeting point. Pickup from other locations may be earlier.
Short ferry crossing from Kettering to Bruny Island. Return fare included.
Morning tea on the beach. Get Shucked oysters (freshly shucked), three types of Bruny Island cheese, freshly baked bread, tea and coffee. Gluten-free biscuits available. The guide sets it up on the beach.
Historic stop connected to the early exploration of Bruny Island.
Search for the Bennett's white wallaby, an albino wallaby unique to Bruny Island. Sightings are not guaranteed.
Scenic drive through the temperate rainforest on the slopes of Mount Mangana. Weather-dependent.
Visit to South Bruny National Park. National Park entry fees are included.
30-minute guided tour of Cape Bruny Lighthouse, built in 1836, heritage-listed, decommissioned 1997. Original lens from 1903 still on site. Climb 72 steps (with handrail) to the balcony. Views across the Southern Ocean and cape. Cape Bruny Lighthouse Museum included for all guests. Children under 5 may visit the museum and walk inside at the base under adult supervision.
One-course lunch overlooking Sunset Beach. Local Bruny Island and Tasmanian produce. Gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options available. Beverages not included.

The narrow isthmus connecting North and South Bruny Island. Three options: 279 stairs to the Truganini Lookout, mid-level lookout, or flat boardwalk to the beach.

- This is a guided road and ferry tour in an air-conditioned bus. It is not a cruise or boat tour.
- Departs Hobart at 7am. Returns approximately 5:00 to 5:30pm.
- Your specific pickup time and location is confirmed after booking. Pickup from locations other than the main Hobart meeting point may be earlier than 7am.
- Bring a small day bag or backpack. Suitcases and large bags cannot be accommodated on the bus.
- Bruny Island is often cooler than Hobart. Bring warm layers and a rain jacket even in summer.
- Wear comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes.
- Due to safety regulations, children under 5 years old cannot climb the Cape Bruny Lighthouse stairs but can walk around the base inside.
- Bring a reusable water bottle. Water is available on the bus for refills throughout the day.
- Dietary requirements and food allergies must be noted at time of booking. Gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options available at lunch. Gluten-free biscuits available at morning tea.
- Children under 5 cannot climb Cape Bruny Lighthouse stairs. They may visit the museum and walk outside the base under adult supervision.

We had an amazing day exploring Bruny Island as a couple. The tour was very well organised, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared lots of interesting information about the island’s history, wildlife, and local culture. One feature we really appreciated was the app, which allowed us to listen to the information about each stop in our own language. Being able to hear everything in Spanish made the experience even more enjoyable and accessible. Our guide timed each stop perfectly, so we arrived before the crowds. This gave us the opportunity to enjoy every location peacefully and take amazing photos before it became busy. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning coastal views, beautiful beaches, and plenty of opportunities to take incredible photos. We also loved stopping to sample local produce along the way. It was the perfect balance of sightseeing, nature, and relaxation. We never felt rushed, and every stop was worth it. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tasmania. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
Excellent tour. The guide was very informative and enthusiastic.
The scenery along the way was beautiful, and the oysters were delicious, but the driver was so racist. Throughout the trip, this driver kept making racist remarks—like how Asians can’t drive, or that Black people in Melbourne are criminals, and so on. Come on, shut your mouth! This is a vacation; everyone’s here to relax and enjoy the view, not to listen to your offensive speech. The scenery was beautiful, but the driver completely ruined the whole experience.

We had an amazing time, first trip out to Bruny Island and know we booked a great day trip. Nigel was absolutely fantastic, took the time to show us so much - so we didn't miss a thing. Enjoyed from start to finish can't praise this trip enough. The cost was so worth it - starting with breakfast (oysters, cheese and bread amazing 🥰) lunch and the stops in between.. thank you for an awesome day.

We had a fantastic time learning about the light house with our tour guide Shane. He told us all about the history of the light house and other stories about the area. He was so patient with a couple of us who were a little worried about heights, I would highly recommend if you are on Bruny Island. A big thanks to Shane for the family pic at the top too.

Everything was great! Pickup was on time and smooth, our guide was friendly and informative, no issues at any point during the day. I felt like we had enough time at each stop and we got home at the expected time. Food was incredible, the oysters and bread were so fresh. Even saw some albino wallabys and eagles.

It starts early so everyone should be on time for their appointed pick up time. The guide is very knowledgeable and has a sense of humour which makes the tour light hearted and cheerful. Many places were covered without feeling too rushed. Even the lighthouse walk had 2 groups to cater to various walking speed. Overall, many food tasted along the way with good amount of info given at each area.
