Poças Guided Visit and Wine Tasting of 3 Port Wines

Description
With more than 100 years of existence, Poças lies in the hands of the 4th generation, being one of the very few Port Wine company that was born Portuguese and still belongs to the same Portuguese family. The Old Tawny Ports have built Poças’ reputation but DOC Douro wines have been proving their own quality over the last 30 years. Recently, Poças received the award of “Fortified wine producer of the year 2018” by the Portuguese magazine “Revista de Vinhos”. Additionally, welcoming about 28 000 visitors per year, our Visitor Center has been also distinguished with the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence. We have plenty of different reasons for inviting you to be part of a true family atmosphere, to feel the unforgettable aroma of the noblest wines and to see up close a real day-to-day cellar routine.

nice explaining about the history and variety of wines good friendship with guests and between guests
Pretty lame No proper explanation as to how to “taste” or appreciate the different ports-the tour description was discombobulated and at times not relevant to our tour
Learned a lot, delicious port, and generous tasting pours! Would recommend to someone visiting Porto.
A perfect guide, clear explanations, very dynamic, adorable. We learned a lot. The tasting of the different Ports was impeccable, done seated with explanations about each product and advice. Great.
New young guide from Italy. Sweet and helpful but lacked some basic knowledge about the production. However, she was good at returning if questions could not be answered Forgot chocolate to support the tasting. Had to ask for the chocolate, and then it came along with an excuse.
Nice place but a tour guide that talked too much Good port wine
We had been recommended to visit Pocas, a family owned Port wine house, and it did not disappoint. The guide gave us a lot of information during the tour and then we were able to sample 3 different types of Port Wine at the end. This made the end of the tour most convivial! There was an opportunity to buy wine and port etc. after our visit. Would recommend.
Our guide was fun & knowledgeable. We learned all about Douro valley & Port wine production. Tasting 3 different wines with explanation of each. Don't arrive early, there's nothing around to do.
Great tasting experience. The location feels a little bit rough but the building itself was great. This is my second time here and I enjoyed it both times.
Great tour, upgraded to the have the cheese & sweet accompaniment which was great value our guide had an infectious energy that really made the experience. Bought a lovely bottle of port that will be saved for a special occasion
