A must-do in Pearl Harbor

This was such a fun experience for 3 generations visiting Pearl Harbor. It was the highlight of our 13-year-old's trip to Honolulu.

Operator response

Please do come back and visit again as we are currently working on major renovation. I hope you left the island with many fond memories.

Worthwhile return visit. Good food.

Detailed stories told through aircraft that cannot be seen anywhere else. I would also recommend the food at the Hanger Cafe. Meals can be shared.

The Whole Pearl Harbor Experience Feels, Sadly, Like A Tourist Trap Money Grab, poorly maintained, maximizing dollars they can g

I have been to a lot of aviation museums, as they go this one was pretty small and unimpressive. When I got around the corner in the building to the exit I thought "is that all there is?". There is also the other hanger, but it is kind of empty. Sort of sad the whole area, which should be a respectful memorial to those that served and died at Pearl Harbor, feel like a poorly maintained money grab trading off the name rather than what they offer visitors.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your visit did not meet your expectations. Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is housed in two historic World War II hangars on Ford Island, preserving the very site where the events of December 7, 1941 unfolded. While our museum is more intimate than some large aviation museums, our mission is to preserve these historic structures, honor the stories of those who served, and inspire future generations through aviation history and STEM education. We understand that every visitor has different expectations, and we appreciate your candid comments. Feedback like yours helps us continue to improve the visitor experience while remaining committed to preserving this important piece of history. Thank you again for visiting, and we wish you safe travels.

You really shouldn’t skip this tour!

The aviation Museum was fantastic. You actually get to sit in a military plane. All of the planes and helicopters on display were fascinating. Definitely take advantage of the audio tour. There are so many interesting facts inside the main building. We also opted for the flight simulator and it was so much fun.

Operator response

Thank you Jenn for your favorable review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience here at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum. I hope you left the island with many fond memories.

Never Hot to Experience the Museum

I added the Aviation Museum to our already booked excursion not realizing we wouldn't have time to see it...so disappointing. Taking the tour with this company puts time restraints on just how much you can see. I gave it a 4 star because I am sure it would have been wonderful.

Operator response

We're sorry you were unable to experience our museum during your visit. Please visit us on your next trip to Oahu, and we would be delighted to help create unforgettable memories for you.

Aviation Museum was AWESOME

We were very excited to learn more about aircraft that that helped the USA win the war in the Pacific. We were not disappointed. As soon as we went into the hanger we were confronted with an Japanese Zero fighter. It was a lot bigger that I expected and or great condition. All of the exhibits were very interesting and informative. Anyone that is in to see the Missouri should take the quick shuttle to see Aviation Museum. The CEO even came out and took a photo with the kids and his Blue Angel jet that was outside!

Operator response

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that your visit to the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum exceeded your expectations. It’s great to know the exhibits — especially the Japanese Zero in the hangar — made such a strong impression. Our team works hard to preserve these historic aircraft and present the stories behind them in a meaningful and engaging way. We’re also glad you were able to take advantage of the shuttle from the Battleship Missouri Memorial and make the most of your time on Ford Island. Moments like meeting our leadership team and seeing the Blue Angels aircraft up close make visits even more memorable, especially for families. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back again soon!

Things to Do in Pearl Harbor

Spent the day in Pearl Harbor with the family and ended the day passing by the Aircraft Museum. Several planes and helicopters to see up close and possibilities to climb into a cockpit. Lots of fun for the kids. The museum is very well done with possibility to take headphones (available in French) to be guided through the attack of December 7. Recommended.

The best school trips from the best guides

The only Japanese guide, Moko Kamiya, showed us around and gave us a tour. My friends and Kamiya-san had a very valuable experience together! It was a very easy to talk to and easy to understand guide, and there were many stories that can only be heard here! I'd love to go there again!
