This was an unbelievably disappointing experience. My girlfriend and I researched numerous luau options before deciding on Ka Moana, largely because of what appeared to be honest and enthusiastic reviews online. Unfortunately, what we experienced felt like the epitome of a bait-and-switch. The food was mediocre at best and, more importantly, cold. Although the experience was advertised as “buffet style,” the food was practically cleared out after what amounted to a modest first-plate portion, making the buffet feel more like a single serving. The entertainment was equally disappointing. The performers did not appear to take the show seriously, and at one point, one of the performers was openly laughing and seemingly making a mockery of the dances. It was incredibly distracting and completely undermined what was supposed to be an immersive cultural experience. We were so underwhelmed and disappointed that we ultimately left early. We walked away feeling like we had wasted two hours of what had otherwise been an amazing vacation. At $220 per person, this experience was nowhere remotely close to being worth the price. Honestly, I would not consider it worth $60 per person. The Ka Moana luau was easily the lowlight of an otherwise fantastic trip. Save your money. There are countless other ways to spend two hours and $220 that will leave you with a much better experience.
Definitely not worth the money. Two tickets $300. Picked up and drove around town for an hour, late to the show. After arriving spent 20+mins in line just to get in. Paid for two drinks out of pocket, we chose the pineapple drinks, only for my daughter's pineapple to have a worm/caterpillar living in it. Very gross and killed our appetite. No apology just thrown another pineapple. Food was mediocre at best. Received multiple text messages before the show to upgrade or our seats would be the furthest from the stage, which they were. Very disappointing experience and not worth the money.
The show was amazing. The transportation that was provided caused us to miss the opening activities. Our photo was not taken with the performers like everyone else. The pre show activities were over with when we arrived. We had to rush to eat before the show began.
Great performers awful food and although historic aloha tower you feel you are in a parking lot and the sun is shining on you and you can't do activities The sun goes away for performance I would select another luau The two drinks included were small and super weak Good dancers 4 guys and about 6 ladies Up on stage
It’s an excellent show with talented performers. My family and I thoroughly every performance. The venue is beautifully decorated and located right by the bay, adding to the ambiance. However, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. I was hoping for a more elaborate menu with a variety of dishes beyond the usual fried noodles, rice, grilled fish or chicken, or pulled pork.
The setting was nice, but because of the fencing, the stage, & just the way everything was set up there was no breeze, we just sat in the hot sun! When the sun set, there was only a slight relief from the heat. There was no water on the tables. Mango juice & water was placed at the very edge of the venue, only small cups were available. The food was only slightly better than terrible. The salad was iceberg lettuce with brown edges. There was a choice of white or brown rice, over cooked, dry, tasteless fish (I was told that it was aha tuna), over cooked boneless chicken thighs in a teriyaki sauce that somehow managed to be dry as well. The show was well done. Both of my grandchildren really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly & helpful. I don’t think it was worth the money overall.
Very entertaining and food was wonderful. Loved the dancing and the mai tai's. It was a great time .
The show is fantasic but the food is terrible, It happened to be raining all time during the show although we were given raincoat but still got wet
The whole experience was amazing. The driver was great and patient with some of the late arrivals we had. The entrance was clear and showed exactly where to go. The fee was reasonable for what we got. The atmosphere was awesome and it didn’t feel as though much time had gone by. We were having a good time enjoying the food, drinks and the dancing.
We paid for the celebrity pick up and good seats! The food was brought to our table. Well worth paying the bit extra!!
