A strange bottle, a soldier riding a cow, and a cryptic message lead you from Marienplatz through medieval market squares, hidden Baroque passages, and the city's most storied breweries. Using the free Questo app, you'll navigate 11 chapters across Munich's Old Town at your own pace. Decode puzzles at the Mariensäule column, uncover the 1516 Reinheitsgebot purity law at Viktualienmarkt, visit Oktoberfest breweries Hacker-Pschorr and Schneider Weisse, step inside the infamous Hofbräuhaus, and end at a hidden wolf fountain steeped in Germanic folklore. Start anytime — no reservation needed, no guide to wait for. Just open the app and begin your brewing adventure through one of Europe's great beer capitals. The quest takes approximately 1 hour 31 minutes and covers just over 2 km through Munich's walkable Old Town.

App based and app was impossible to figure out. Waste of time to have to download it then wade through all the nonsense

This is a fun, inexpensive way to see Marienplatz and the surrounding area. You do have to be observant, but definitely is fun. Also great to be able to do it whenever you want.

The tour was perfect! It gives you a funny story line and take you to brilliant Bräuhauses across Munich. You can take you time and really explore the city a lot. We will definitely be doing another one of these tours soon

A really fun way to explore the center of the city and its hidden gems. I have lived here for many years but still I didn't know many of the stories narrated. I like that the game makes you look up and look for details that normally you would not notice and appreciate. Can't wait to show off with my friends next time I walk along these streets.

Nice walk in the center of Munich, at our own pace. You pass through nice streets, away from places too touristy and you learn things about breweries.
