Morning Canal Cruise Amsterdam in Small-Group

Description
Captain Dave Amsterdam introduced early morning cruising in Amsterdam years ago. We sail early, when the canals are calm and quiet —the best time for relaxed cruising and beautiful photos. Unlike standard tours with fixed routes and scripted commentary, our cruises are personal, informative, and fun. Every tour is different. We start along the iconic Canal Ring (UNESCO World Heritage) and let the city guide us. Our boats: At 8:00 & 10:00, we cruise on the Jonckvrouw —an intimate, fully electric Navigating Monument from 1928, once used by the Dutch royals. She features sliding glass windows, a sunroof, an open aft deck, heating, and a light‑use toilet. At 8:30 & 10:30, we sail on our iconic James Bond boat, a former taxi boat with full 360° views, perfect for photography. Toilet on board. Award Winners for Best Amsterdam Boat Tour, recipients of the Badge of Excellence, and listed among the Best Rated Airbnb Experiences. See you onboard, Captain Dave Amsterdam

Our guide, Jan, was knowledgeable, personable and very funny. We learned a lot and laughed a lot. It was a totally delightful tour. And the boat is beautiful!
Jan was great. See below title area.
Gisella was our captain for the morning cruise, and she ensured everyone had a lovely time! The boat was lovely and cozy with a delightful open back deck. We learned a bit about our fellow ‘shipmates’ as we began which is something you simply don’t get on other cruises and is a nice bit of personalization. Gisella was an experienced and sure captain, gave us a lovely overview of the city itself (along with some recommendations) as we made our way through the canals, and made sure we knew about potential photo ops. The breakfast was a Dutch bread with butter, and she started everyone off with their morning beverage of choice before we began. The four of us agreed we would all take another Captain Dave cruise again!
Laidback morning with Gisela narrating. Informative tour led by a local. The boat only arrives 5 minutes before departure, so be patient!
Fantastic time w Lolli on the James Bond, he is a great character w huge knowledge of the Dutch history and it’s impact on the world, esp New Amsterdam and the broader USA history. We saw lovely Dutch architecture and learned so much about how Amsterdam began and exists.
I enjoyed the casual, small group feel of this tour. Our guide/captain was knowledgeable, helpful, and clearly enjoyed her work.
This was a great tour. Highly recommend
Capt Dave’s boat was amazing for an overview of the city! The boat is enclosed for those rainy/cold day but all windows and doors open for sun and air. Our guide was so sweet and very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend!!
Our captain and guide Jan provided a very interesting and enjoyable tour. Having a small and historic vessel made it much more attractive than the larger cruise boats, so it was definitely worth the effort to go on one of Captain Dave's tours.
Gisela was an excellent guide and captain! Lovely boat, and small group made it very enjoyable. Learned much about Amsterdam and able to ask questions.
