After a short train journey, arrive at the bustling Miyajima Ferry Terminal, your gateway to the sacred island. Begin your adventure with an enlightening stop at the Miyajima Island Visiting Center, where you'll uncover the fascinating history and cultural symbols of both Hatsukaichi city and Miyajima Island. Interactive displays and informative exhibits provide the perfect introduction to your island experience. A scenic 5-minute ferry ride across the calm waters will then transport you to the mystical shores of Miyajima.

30 min

The Floating Torii Gate Standing majestically in the sea, Miyajima's iconic vermillion torii gate creates one of Japan's most breathtaking photo opportunities. This grand gateway, which appears to float on water during high tide, has served as the sacred entrance to Itsukushima Shrine for centuries, welcoming countless pilgrims who arrived by boat. Capture stunning photos of this UNESCO World Heritage site while your guide shares fascinating stories about its spiritual significance and the ancient pilgrimage routes through the Seto Inland Sea.

Admission included30 min

Step into the mesmerizing Itsukushima Shrine, a unique architectural marvel built over water that seems to float on the sea at high tide. This UNESCO World Heritage site holds profound significance as one of Japan's most sacred places, where ancient pilgrims would worship without setting foot on the holy island ground. Discover the spiritual home of the three sea deities - daughters of the mighty Susanoo - and try your luck with a traditional Omikuji fortune slip near Japan's only floating Noh theater stage. Let the shrine's vermillion corridors and centuries-old atmosphere transport you back to a time when this served as a gateway between the earthly and divine realms.

30 min

Nestled at the base of sacred Mount Misen, the enchanting Daishō-in Temple complex stands as a testament to centuries of Shingon Buddhist tradition, established by the revered monk Kūkai. Wander through this spiritual haven to discover its unique treasures, including the charming Ojizō-san garden with its countless statues, a magnificent golden reclining Buddha, and the atmospheric cave that commemorates Kūkai's famous Shikoku pilgrimage route. Experience the peaceful atmosphere of this active monastery as you climb its steps, each turn revealing new wonders of Japanese Buddhist architecture and artistry.

30 min

Take a gentle stroll through the enchanting Momijidani Park, where nature displays its seasonal splendor with graceful maple trees, bubbling streams, and traditional red bridges dotting the landscape. In spring, delicate cherry blossoms paint the scene in soft pink hues, while autumn transforms the park into a blazing canvas of red and gold maple leaves. Encounter Miyajima's friendly deer as you wander through this accessible park, where refreshing waterfalls and tranquil pathways create the perfect setting for a peaceful nature break.

Admission included30 min

Mt. Misen Ropeway Soar into the sky aboard the Mt. Misen Ropeway, where a spectacular aerial journey awaits as you ascend to the sacred summit. Glide over Miyajima's pristine primeval forest in a comfortable gondola while taking in breathtaking 360-degree views of the Seto Inland Sea and its scattered islands. This 20-minute journey through the clouds offers unparalleled photo opportunities and serves as the perfect introduction to Mt. Misen's spiritual heights.

Admission included60 min

Mt. Misen Summit & Reikado Pavilion From the highest point of Miyajima, the Shishiwa observation deck offers one of Japan's most celebrated scenic views, where the scattered islands of the Seto Inland Sea create a mesmerizing panorama. Take a short hike to the historic Reikado Pavilion to witness the eternal flame that has burned continuously for over 1,200 years, first lit by the revered monk Kukai and later used to ignite the Flame of Peace in Hiroshima. Experience the profound spiritual energy of this sacred peak while enjoying sweeping views that stretch across the shimmering sea, explaining why this vista has long been considered one of Japan's three most beautiful landscapes.

30 min

Standing gracefully against the backdrop of Mt. Misen, the magnificent Five-Storied Pagoda has been an enduring symbol of Miyajima since its construction in 1407. This striking vermillion structure rises elegantly in front of the Senjokaku (1000-mat pavilion), creating one of the island's most photogenic scenes. Marvel at the pagoda's classic Buddhist architecture as your guide shares stories about its historical significance and the expert craftsmanship that has allowed it to stand proudly for over six centuries.

60 min

Wander through the historic Omotesando Shopping Street, where centuries-old shops and traditional architecture transport you to Japan's merchant past. This lively thoroughfare offers a delightful array of local specialties, from succulent Miyajima oysters to savory Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki, and the island's famous maple-leaf shaped Momijimanju sweet cakes. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere as you explore charming souvenir shops, traditional craft stores, and welcoming restaurants that have been serving visitors for generations.

Liron was a great...

Liron was a great guide, both attentive and clear throughout the tours. The day was full, there was no downtime, and the places visited are exceptional. Very good balance between the tours and the break times. I recommend it!

A Highlight of our Japan Trip - don't skip this!

Liron was our awesome guide on this gorgeous tour. Stunning scenery and a balance of history, culture, and delicious food. The day we went, it was pouring rain and we couldn't do all the outdoor activities ut Liron improvised and surprised us with a fun impromptu baking class to make local sweets and then we enjoyed a cup of lemon honey tea in the rain at a hot spring Cafe. Absolutely delightful day...one of the highlights of our Japan trip!

An excellent day out

Wonderful experience as a tourist to have a guide to efficiently cover all the things we wanted to do. And everything is included, it was particularly hot today, so.we had several breaks for a sit down and water and finished the day with a fabulous traditional lunch of okonomyaki , which was delicious. Liron was very informative about all the places we visited. The Courtesy bus down, was wonderful as we had done a lot of steps in the heat. Would have probably preferred lunch a bit earlier, but it just doesn't work with the schedule; and tbh it was a wonderful way to finish off the day (so maybe bring some snacks just in case )
