Mikumi National Park lies alongside the Northern border of Africa's biggest Game Reserve - the SELOUS – forming a unique ecosystem. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the fashionable centrepiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. Some spotted lions survey their grassy kingdom, and the Zebra, Giraffes, Elephants, Wildebeest, Impala, and Buffalo herds migrate across the park. This tour starts from Zanzibar airport at 07h00 and arrives at Mikumi Airstrip at 08h00, received by our safari guide. Directly you will start a safari game drive touring the game-rich area of Mkata plains. The plain is very famous for its concentrations of wildlife. Also, visiting the famous Hippo pool whereby many come to drink water. Hot lunch during lunchtime then proceeds with your journey exploring the African bushes before returning to the airstrip at around 15h30 for your flight back to Zanzibar.

The Mikumi safari was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was excellently organized, and we felt we truly got the most out of this day. A very special thank you goes to our driver Pascal. He was simply fantastic! With his experience, he consistently brought us to the best spots and ensured that we could experience many special moments before the large crowds arrived. This allowed us to observe the animals in a calm and unique atmosphere. Throughout the entire safari, we felt completely comfortable and well taken care of. Pascal was friendly, attentive, and took plenty of time to introduce us to the wildlife and the national park. Thank you for this unforgettable experience. Driver who stays 10 minutes in front of the zebras... spends his time on the phone... but in front of the lions, a fleeting passage... barely 3 minutes... and the "French" guide... well, he wasn't speaking... of course, he was sleeping during the safari... constant meal time delays... it wasn't the most pleasant safari, but surely due to a bad team.

Experience of a life time! Our tour guide I think his name was Nicolo was amazing he had so much knowledge of all the animals. We were so lucky to see all the animals we wanted other than the Leopards. Our tour guide made sure we got the pictures and experience we wanted before moving on. Picked up from our hotel in Paje, quick flight on a small plane and straight to the safari had lunch included with the 2 game drives. So worth the money!!! 🦓🦒🐒🐘🩷
