Itinerary
After meeting your guide outside Monument Station on Fish Street Hill, you will walk over London Bridge. Here your guide will explain the history of this famous bridge, how it 'regenerated' in the late 1960s, and how there are now two London Bridges, one in London and the other in America. From this famous river crossing, your guide will show you The Tower of London, where the UNIT Black Archive is hidden, how filming took place inside the Tower for the 50th Anniversary special, and how The Tower of London took one of the jokes from Doctor Who and tweeted about their ravens! From London Bridge, your guide will walk you to Southwark Cathedral which is nearby.
From St Thomas Street we can, on a clear day, see the top of The Shard the tallest building in the United Kingdom. Standing over 300m tall. It was from this building where Miss Kizlet had her operation for the Great Intelligence in Series 7 of New Who. On Saint Thomas Street you will learn how filming took place, why this particular street was used for filming, and how the Doctor Who team keep fans guessing about how public filming will fit within the overall structure of the series and episode.
Mentioned in the episode 'The Lazarus Experiment', Southwark Cathedral's mentioned in the episode is not what it seems..... Outside this beautiful gothic Cathedral, your guide will explain how the actor who plays Lazarus has played more characters in Doctor Who than anyone else and how their involvement in Doctor Who lead to another major BBC TV series being commissioned which launched the international career of film star Benedict Cumberbatch.
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, often called 'The Globe' by Londoners, is not only a unique building in the heart of London but also a site heavily associated with the 10th Doctor, David Tennant, his career and his personal life. Whilst outside The Globe, your guide will explain how the Doctor Who team managed to film at the Globe (and became the first TV show or film to do so) and how David Tennant has filmed at the Globe more than any other actor - even though he's never performed here on stage! While stopped outside The Globe, not only will your guide reveal how the theatre was used in the episode The Shakespeare Code, but we will also tell you how this unique London landmark came into being and how it has a surprising link to a favourite Doctor Who villain.
After travelling by public transport to St Paul's Cathedral, your guide will explain how Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece and the surrounding areas have been used throughout Doctor Who, including in the two-part Dark Water and Death In Heaven. The guide will also explain the history of Saint Pauls's Cathedral, the important burials and memorials which have taken place here, and why one of the most famous landmarks in London is such a film-friendly location.
John Adam Street is the filming location for No. 10 Downing Street in the Doctor Who episode Aliens of London/World War Three. This is the perfect place to stop for a photo and pretend to be Prime Minister.
Trafalgar Square, named after the 1805 battle of Trafalgar, is home to the National Gallery and the under gallery where the painting of Gallifrey Falls No More is housed.... or is it? Whilst at Trafalgar Square, your guide will explain how the sequence in The Day of the Doctor with the Eleventh Doctor hanging from the TARDIS was filmed even though the square remained open to passersby and tourists.
As we walk through the beautiful St James's Park, we will stop on The Mall to discuss the links between Doctor Who and the Royal Family. Your guide will also reveal how Doctor Who filmed the famous moment when the Titanic almost crashed into Buckingham Palace! Finally, your guide will explain why Donna's grandfather was never meant to be a permanent feature of Doctor Who, why the actor who played him (Bernard Cribbins) was so important, and how London in Doctor Who isn't always London.
Whitehall is the home of the British Government. Whilst walking through Whitehall we will tell you how the Doctor Who team managed to fake the destruction of Number 10 Downing Street (the home of the Prime Minister) during the episode Aliens of London/World War 3. Whilst walking down Whitehall your guide will also point out some of the historic buildings that fill this area, explain why there are mounted soldiers on this road, and tell you why Film and TV production is so important to London.
The Tour will start outside Big Ben, where we will talk about how the Doctor Who team managed to destroy Big Ben in the episode Aliens of London/World War 3. We will also discuss how the nearby hospital, while not mentioned by name in the script of Smith and Jones, is clearly the one that is abducted by the Judoon and taken to the Moon.
At this location, we will discuss the first sequences filmed in London for the new series of Doctor Who and some of the mistakes in the scripts of series 1. This location also allows you to stand opposite the London Eye and recreate the famous 'What?!' moment from the first episode of new who 'Rose'. Remember you can always ask your guide to take a photo for you, or help you to recreate the scene from Doctor Who for you to film and take home on your smart phone.
The final location of the tour is Earls Court Tube Station. Outside Earl's Court is the famous Police Call Box, where you can stop and grab a photo. Feel free to ask your guide to take a pic of you and your group; they are always willing to offer advice on getting the best possible picture to make your friends back home jealous!

The guid Jeremaia was very profetional, was interesting and was great.brought props and guid with lot of nolige about ather things.
I did a Doctor Who tour in London with my dad, led by our guide David, and honestly, it was phenomenal. The tour lasted about three hours and was worth every pound. David was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, patient, and genuinely friendly. Within minutes, it felt less like a formal tour and more like walking around London with a really passionate (and very well-informed) friend. His enthusiasm was contagious. What really stood out was how he balanced everything. Of course, we visited iconic Doctor Who filming locations, and he came prepared with reference photos so you could directly compare scenes to real-life spots which was amazing as a fan. But he didn’t stop there he layered in real London history, adding context and depth that made each stop even more interesting. The best part? My dad isn’t a Whovian at all, and he still had a fantastic time. David’s storytelling and deep knowledge of London’s history made the tour engaging for everyone, not just fans of the show. That’s not easy to pull off, but he did it effortlessly. On top of that, David was just great to talk to. We chatted about all kinds of geeky and nerdy topics beyond Doctor Who, which made the whole experience feel even more personal and memorable. I genuinely can’t recommend this tour enough. If you’re even remotely interested in Doctor Who, or just want a unique, entertaining way to explore London, this is absolutely worth it. And if you can get David as your guide, you’re in for something special.
Amazing tour with David! felt like exploring London with a friend. Great Doctor Who spots and history. Even my dad, not a fan, had a blast
Wonderful day spent with our guide David. He was very knowledgeable of not only Dr Who but London history as well. He was friendly, polite , professional. He accommodated my dislike of the tube cheerfully. Top notch all the way around!
Thank you very much for the amazing review, We are so glad to hear that you had a good time with David, learning about Doctor Who and London, and that he helped you in the tube. We hope you consider us when booking in the future for Tours within the UK. Kind Regards, Alyson
As whovians with classic and new series enjoyment, we were looking forward to seeing filming locations and getting some local context to associate with some of the scenes and stories we love. As a transgender couple making a long-planned trip to an increasingly transphobic country, we were prepared for many situations to be uncomfortable if not outright hostile. Our originally-scheduled guide was replaced last-minute, and we did have to wait a few minutes extra for our replacement to arrive, but it was very worth it. Dewi was smart, funny, and welcoming, a fellow whovian and familiar with a variety of sci-fi fandoms, as well as being supportive of the progressive values that have been projected by our favorite fictional worlds. An academic and performer, he was erudite and amusing, following his given script as expected while also adding personal touches based on our shared experiences as he got to know us.
Thank you for your brilliant review, we are so glad you had a nice time with Dewi and felt welcomed. Please consider us when booking for tours within the UK. All the best, Alyson
We enjoyed the entire tour as it was a great way to see all the historic sites with details about the Doctor Who series.
Absolutely fantastic way to see most of the major landmarks of London - and all the better through the lens of Doctor Who. Michael was a wonderful guide and told us so much more than we expected about not only the episodes but behind the scenes tidbits and local history as well. (Also, huge thanks for taking us on this tour in the wind, cold, and rain on the only day we had available; so appreciated). Highly recommend!

Really fun tour, and Dewey (our guide) did a tremendous job. This was my son’s favorite activity in London. Highly recommended even if not everyone in your family is a huge fan of the series. It’s a great way to see London from a more quirky perspective. Worth every penny.
We really enjoyed our tour. Chris was incredibly knowledgeable; not just about what happened on screen but about who wrote what and other information about the series. He stumped my crazy Who fans! He also presented a lot of historical information which was interesting for those of us not crazy Who fans. It was a nice walking tour of London.
