Itinerary
Skip the long lines and visit Castle S. Jorge, the best possible beginning for our journey. Accompanied by our expert tour guide, it will be your fist historical postcard of the city, where you will hear how it has been silently watching over Lisbon for nearly a thousand years!
Lisbon’s oldest neighborhood and a beautiful maze of narrow alleys, hidden courtyards, and laundry flapping in the breeze. It’s where Fado echoes through the streets and every corner feels like a secret. Come for the history, stay for the vibes (and maybe get a little lost , on purpose). Enjoy a tasting of the traditional Ginjinha, the sour cherry liquor so connected with the city that it could not be left out of our tour.
Praça do Comércio, also known as Terreiro do Paço, is Lisbon’s grandest square and one of Europe’s most beautiful waterfront plazas. Once the site of the royal palace before the 1755 earthquake, it now opens majestically onto the Tagus River, framed by elegant yellow arcades and the triumphal Rua Augusta Arch. This iconic space embodies Portugal’s Age of Discovery, where explorers once departed for distant lands, and today it pulses with life, blending history, architecture, and culture. Cafés, street musicians, and the gentle sea breeze make it a perfect place to experience Lisbon’s spirit: open, luminous, and deeply connected to the sea.
Lisbon’s classy bohemian quarter, where poets once sipped coffee and artists argued about art. Today, it’s a stylish mix of old bookstores, fancy shops, cool cafés, and street performers. Think Paris meets Portugal — with better pastries.
Tucked into a Chiado side street since 1732, Bertrand isn’t just a bookstore : it’s the oldest one in the world still running! Imagine centuries of readers, revolutionaries, and romantic poets browsing its shelves. Step inside, smell the paper, and time-travel with a good book.
Praça Luís de Camões, at the heart of Lisbon’s lively Chiado district, celebrates Portugal’s greatest poet and the golden age of exploration he immortalized. Surrounded by elegant 18th-century buildings, traditional shops, and bustling cafés, the square is a meeting point for locals and travelers alike, where the charm of old Lisbon meets its vibrant contemporary rhythm. At its center stands the statue of Camões, watching over the city’s creative pulse. We end our tour here with a delicious tasting of the famous Pastel de Nata at Manteigaria, Lisbon’s beloved custard tart bakery, where the scent of cinnamon and warm pastry perfectly concludes your journey through Lisbon’s history and flavor.

Raquel is one of the best tour guides I ever had the experience of taking a tour with. We were incredibly lucky that other people cancelled or didn’t show up, so this accidentally became a private tour, and what a fantastic private tour it was. Raquel is incredibly knowledgeable on Portugal’s history and could easily answer the weirdest of my questions with detail. On top of that, she’s super easy going and by the time we left the castle we were honestly just vibing while strolling around the old city. She’s a native from Lisbon, so she can effortlessly give you any recommendations for whichever experience you’re interested in, from food to art, music, transport, even shortcuts across the city’s hills. The tour on its own is already amazing enough, even if you’ve already been to Lisbon it still provides a lot of valuable information and context as to why Lisbon is so unique, and Raquel as the guide just elevates the whole experience. Highly recommend it!
