OBIDOS CASTLE- Obidos' castle dates back to Portugal’s Roman occupation, but its current layout is Moorish and the result of restorations and reconstructions from different Portuguese kings, starting in 1148. The main towers were built in 1375, and in addition to its military function, it also served as a royal palace. The main building where the Portuguese king slept when he was in town is now a hotel, after major restoration of the entire construction starting in 1932. NAZARE- nazare is the place where people can see the highest waves in the world. there are also a light house and statue of devil deer.

The name Óbidos probably derives from the Latin term oppidum , which means “citadel”, or “fortified city”. The Romans lived there until the 5th century before abandoning the city following the fall of Rome. In the 8th century, the Moors established a fortification at the top of the hill. The latter was taken over by the first king of Portugal, Afonso Henriques (Alphonse I of Portugal), in 1148 and it was modified in the 14th century. here the travelers will visit the castle and enjy the old vellage.

We had 4 people and 4 large bags. I called the operator to let him know our luggage was big and make sure the vehicle could accommodate us. He said no problem then sent a driver with a small car that could only fit 2 cases. They did adjust and get a larger car but we were delayed 2 hours. The very nice driver was ill and proceeded to get worse as the trip went on and coughed the entire time. This is not a tour as much as a car service that drops you off at each of the points and comes and picks you up after an hour to 45 minutes. All of the points of interest were free which was good but you have to do your own research and touring.
thank you very much for your opinion. it was a tour for 4 people. but unfortunately you had 8 big double sized luggage with a lot of small bags. they were not fit in the 5 seater van. the car was renult megan which is 5 seats van with big boot. according to your request we sent a 7 seats car for 4 people so that we can complete the tour. we did our best. we are very sorry for that unexpectable situation. we did correction our tour plan.
This ride is not a tour, they make stops and know a little bit, but you should know what you want to see. It’s a personal ride, comfortable.
