Lisbon Flavours: Baixa Guided Food Tour with Portuguese Wine

Description
Discover three of the “seven wonders” of Portuguese cuisine on our award-winning Lisbon Food Tour through Baixa, the only flat neighbourhood in the city. With everything pre-arranged, you’ll skip the queues and dive straight into authentic flavours as your expert local guide leads you from the Tagus River through grand squares and historic landmarks like the Igreja do Santo Domingo, while sharing the story of “new Lisbon” rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake. This comprehensive food tour takes you to taverns, family-owned restaurants, and street food spots. Along the way, we'll try traditional petiscos, savour seafood staples, sample iconic street food like the bifana, and enjoy perfectly paired drinks including Vinho Verde, local beer, and Ginjinha. The experience ends on a sweet note with a classic Portuguese dessert, the perfect finale before heading into the night with your fellow food lovers. Your hosts will be holding a yellow "Carpe Diem Tours" sign in front of Supremo Tribunal de Justiça
Follow your expert guide through Baixa to a cosy tavern specialising in flavour-packed Portuguese petiscos. Here, you’ll try favourites like freshly grilled chouriço and bacalhau à Brás, perfectly paired with local wine.
Next, we'll stop at a traditional Portuguese seafood restaurant for grilled sardines and seafood rice. The best part? You'll wash it all down with a glass of the iconic Vinho Verde.
After a sit-down meal, dive into Portuguese street food with the iconic bifana, a garlic- and wine-simmered steak sandwich. Save room for a crispy coxinha or croqueta, best enjoyed with an ice-cold beer.
We’ll stop at a historic liquor shop dating back to 1890 to try Portugal’s beloved Ginjinha, a sour cherry liqueur that perfectly preps your palate for the final sweet treat.
No food tour is complete without dessert, so you'll try the classic that has become Portugal's claim to fame, pastel de nata, a flaky and crumbly custard unlike any other.
