Got my train ticket in no time. The service was excellent, and they were generous enough to give me a complimentary upgrade to first class.
With not being able to book train tickets till 3 days before travel we found using these guys far easier as they communicated when required and the whole process was taken care of.
It's not as fast as you can imagine, they changed our booking making us leave later and lengthening the journey time
Perfect and carefree service, ticket arrived 4/5 days before, via QR CODE. Given the problems of booking trains in Laos, this agency makes everything very easy.
Easy digital ticket entry, very clean, fast and nice terminal a ways out of the city, but many shuttles buses. No aerosols or pocket knives!
The good bits first, the train was comfortable and clean. Left on time and the journey was smooth. There were refreshments on the train. The bad bits. The journey from. Luang prabang to vang vieng was about 90% tunnels and very boring, from vang vieng to vientiane nice scenery. The train was 30 minutes late arriving in vientiane. Overall, would I do it again?. Probably not, apart from the comfort it wasn't a memorable experience and would fly next time.
We used BC Family Tours Laos for our airport pick up, transportation to the railway station and railway tickets and a food tour. Overall we had a very disappointing experience with BC Family Travel. I’m surprised to see so many positive reviews. Maybe they are the best available in Vientiane? For the airport pick up we were in contact with BC Family Travel when going through immigration. Once out of the airport we had to wait almost 30mins for our driver to collect us. The driver explained that he had an issue with his steering wheel and apologized. Okay, fair enough things happen. Next I’ll write about the food tour on that trip advisor page. Overall it was a pretty disappointing tour. Then our driver to the railway station was 15mins late. It was okay we made it in plenty of time for the train. The biggest disappointment for the train tickets is they arranged backwards facing seats. I would assume that when booking through a tour company they would ensure the passengers had forward facing tickets. The train was not full and there were plenty of forward facing seats. Overall we had a very disappointing experience with BC Family Tours in Laos.
Very convenient to use and great customer service. I’ll use this company again next time I need to book train tickets in Laos.
Well worth booking this even though it costs a bit more. Very well organized as it can get very busy at the station.
I was not really sure what I could get from booking the train with ‘unknown’ people knowing also about the difficulty to get a ticket as they can be bought only 3 days in advance , sai it was a real cliffhanger . Daisy and Sam and the team of BC family travels where so efficient and helpful and it worked out all well . They even created a chat group in WhatsApp and Daisy answered every question in a very short time ! Incredible ! They can also help you with other transports and trips so just ask them !
