Past Secret War in Laos
Wat Si Muang is one of Vientiane’s most popular sites of worship, and offers a fascinating insight into how old animist beliefs have blended seamlessly with Theravada Buddhism. According to local legend, when the temple was being built in 1563 a young pregnant woman named Si Muang volunteered to sacrifice herself to appease the angry spirits. She threw herself into a hole in the ground where the building’s central pillar was to be placed, and was crushed when the massive pillar was lowered into position. This central pillar also formed the centre of the town that was springing up around Wat Si Muang, which to this day is revered as the ‘mother temple’ of Vientiane.

I really recommend this tour and the guide name Chan …. Very knowledgeable and professional. He gave us a very comprehensive tour of the city and history of Vientiane Laos. I recommend his services and the company.
Loved this day tour — it showed me the best of Vientiane in just one day! The tour started with a pickup from my hotel at 10 am by my guide, Chansay, and ended with a drop-off around 4:30–5 pm. I learned a lot about the history of Laos and visited many notable sites in and around the city, including Buddha Park, Patuxai Gate, Pha That Luang Stupa, Wat Sisaket Temple, Khop Chai Deu Restaurant (for lunch), Ho Phra Keo Royal Museum, the Presidential Palace, the COPE Visitor Center, and Wat Simuang. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and want to give a big thank you to my guide Chansay and his driver Youy for such an engaging and informative tour! If you’re looking for a quality day tour that lets you see Vientiane in just one day, I highly recommend this one.

I recommend this tour for everyone visiting Laos.
This was a great experience around Vientaine. The van was clean, comfortable and new. The air conditioning was fabulous on a very hot day. Our guide and drivere were great, and we saw way more than we would have been able to on our own. Thanks for the great tour!
This is great tour for Vientiane Culture. The guide was knowledgeable and informative about the history of the city/country.
Souk was an amazing guide understood the history of the area as he was a former history teacher. He gave me many insights to the religion in the area and the culture. Wonderful day!!!
It was my first visit to Laos. I was very lucky to be assigned to Som as a guide who introduced me to the beauties of Vientiane in one day, explained a lot about history, country and people and was very helpful in implementing my other planned activities in Laos. Som was really an excellent guide, the best thing that could happen to me as a first time guest in this country. Anytime again!
It was a great experience. Accompanied by my guide and a driver, I could quickly see the essentials of Vinciane and especially the Buddha Park a little distant. My guide also listened to my preferences for lunch and we ate in a small local restaurant with typical Lao cuisine. It was also a great time to discuss the culinary traditions of Laos.
Bandith was an exceptionally good guide. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and patient. The tour provided some really interesting insights into Vientiane, its culture and its history. The restaurant that Bandith recommended to us for lunch was in a delightful setting, and the food we had was tasty. All in all, a day well spent.
to explore Laos, i feel it is beneficial to have a local tour guide who knows the history and is excited to share for tourists and people with interest. Toy, my guide, was amazing. very insightful and detailed in his story-telling. it made for an amazing day.
